90 Miles to havana by Enrique Flores-Galbis
This is perfect for any middle and high school library. It's well crafted. Not only does it give us insight into history but also handling bullies. It's a good book.
Confessions the Murder of an Angel by James Patterson
It's a good ending. I now need to read the previous three books. This is the final book. And honestly, the author provides enough information to follow the story with out even reading the first three books.
It's good. It's fine for any high school library. Enjoy.
Woods Runner by Gary Paulsen
It is a good solid book. A captured time of history to help us understand the terrible times during the cusp of the revolutionary war. Fine for any school library.
Love, Dishonor, Marry, Die, Cherish, Perish: A novel in verse by David Rakoff
This is for adults. This is an excellent book but content would be for adults. The short story verses are of different characters and we see a slice of their life. Their problems and hopes.
If you listen to the book, you have the treat of hearing the author read his work. He read it well. It almost sounds like an adult content Dr. Seuss. This would be good for college level libraries.

This is a larger then life story of 12 different groups via for ancient power in modern times. It's a treasure hunt, it's genetics, it's history and it's romance as well as travel. Conspiracies of super families with political powers looking for ancient treasures. It's pretty good. Enjoy. A bit over the top but it's entertaining.

Going Wild by Lisa McMann
This is a great book for middle school. Diverse kids learning to get a long, special powers and at the very end a very dangerous scientist. It's a good story. Enjoy.
Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver
The mystery of one missing little girl, and an accident told in flashbacks and two sisters who once were close and now rift apart are in pain. Dara the youngest is making terrible choices, drugs, party and worse. When Dara disappears on her birthday, Nick goes to terrible places to look for her.
Lauren Oliver can write. Anything she writes for teens about teens, read. I would say yes for library with mature audience. It's a good but intense read. One comment, the parents are portrayed as disconnected and not directly involved in their children's lives. Arrgh.

Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson
This should be in every middle school and high school library. I got to hear Jacqueline Woodson in Fresno a few years ago. She is so worth listening to. She is worth reading. Reading this book gives us an appreciation of a different time. It gives us a deeper understanding. Enjoy!

The Falconer by Elizabeth May
It's part Steampunk and part warrior woman as Aileana goes after with great revenge for the death of her mother by a fae out for blood. It's an okay story. Good for personal libraries or public libraries.
The Moves Make The Man by Bruce Brooks
This has so many layers to it. It's about Jerome and his family. It's about Bix and his family. I have a feeling Bix might be in the Autistic spectrum. It's about racism. It's about mental health, and suicide. It's about basketball and baseball. It's about facing the truth. It is a good read but a difficult read as well.

She's bullied by a fellow classmate for years and her father and step-mother have some relationship issues they need to figure out. This story is funny and touching. It's good and fine for any teen library. I like that Holly Smale, the author, was a teen model. It's a good read.

Vivian Apple at the end of the World by Katie Coyle
It's a different story. What would happen if the panic hits a nation as people disappear because and turn extremely religious. This might be the story to tell a cautionary story. I would say perfect for public libraries. I can see some problems in regular high schools. It is a good read.
Ash & Bramable by Sarah Prineas
I like this story. It takes the classic Cinderella and twists it all over. It's a dark story. Fine for any high school library. Think a non-science fiction Cinder story. Enjoy.

Culture and respect to elder's knowledge are woven into the story set in a contemporary time frame. It's an easy story for reluctant readers to give it a read. Enjoy.

The Custard Protocol Imprudence by Gail Carriger
I am a fan of Gail Carriger. I love her steampunk stories. Having said this, I would say this book is better for personal libraries over high school libraries. There is a scene in which Pru learns about sex. Meanwhile, between vampires, werewolves and werecats, there is plenty of adventure and fashion and tea and parasols. Its steampunk at it's finest.
Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman
This is an amazing story!!!!!! It's conception came from Neal Shusterman's son who had a history of mental illness. The story is vivid and filled with metaphors and meaning. The relationships that stem from Caden's story is touching. This book is a must for any high school library. It is a must read.
How I live Now by Meg Rosoff
This is a brilliant story and will be soon purchases for my high school library. It is excellent. Also an award winning story. It's a coming of age story that deals with some of the hardships of war on your own turf, finding food, harsh death and post traumatic stress. It's an excellent read.
Chronicles of Nick Infamous by Sherrilyn Kenyon
I really like this series. Nick is working hard to keep the human side of him as he learns about the demon side of him. He has some unusual friends to help him and some unusual creatures after him to try and get him to embrace his dark side. If you like the Vladimar Tod series you'll like this one. Fine for high school libraries.
