Faith: A Journey For All by Jimmy Carter

Faith: A Journey For All by Jimmy Carter I've always liked Jimmy Carter. He has made a positive difference in the world, even though things didn't go so well when he was president in some regards but yet was successful in other presidential acts. He was a good man and I enjoyed listening to his audiobook.

Walking Shoes by Lynne Gentry

Walking Shoes is book one in a series that I think is off to a great start. I listened to this book and enjoyed how a woman must find herself after her preacher husband dies on the pulpit. Her grown children who have moved away return home to pay their respects and help their mother. The family dynamics and friends dynamics works well. It's a good story. Not preachy just perfect. A good read.

Finding Home by Karen Kingsbury

Finding Home is fine for young children. Children who may have to adjust to big moves and leaving friends behind but having family to help you through would be a good fit. One missing aspect would be diversity of people. But it's fine. Audibook also good.

The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans

This short story, The Christmas Box, is a gentle and sweet reminder of spending time with family and enjoy the precious moments with your children. A little old lady helps the father understand this. It's a sweet book/ short story that I found years ago and forgot to read. I'll be passing it off as a gift. A sweet read.

Grace, Gold & Glory by Gabrielle Douglas

A good story to read.  Gabrielle has had to face  hard times.  Her faith and support of family and friends does her credit.  Read this gold medal Olympic athlete's story.  This is a fine book to add to any high school library.

The Librarian of Boone’s Hollow by Kim Vogel Sawyer

I loved this book.  There really were horseback librarians covered by the government.  And to have this put into a story, it works.  Enjoy.

You are Never Alone by Max Lucado

It's a good book and a good audio book to listen to.  Talks about how God is with us when we are alone, especially in this crazy time.

Hagenheim Silent Songbird by Melanie Dickerson

This is almost the retelling of The Little Mermaid.  Evangeline is a bit naive and the story is a bit unrealistic.  I wouldn't get for the library because it's a bit unbelievable even by a stretch.  But on the other side, it is sort of sweet and if you are looking for Christian romance... there you go.

Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay

This book is filled with lots of Austen literary references as well as other literary references.  Think Jane Austen meets Daddy Long Legs.  I am a fan of Austen so decided to listen to this story.  It's okay, not my favorite but it's okay.

Hagenheim The Orphan's Wish by Melanie Dickerson

It's a very different from the Aladdin that has magic in the story.  Instead it is a straight forward story of two young people who fall in love.  Aladdin is transported to Germany, not by magic carpet but by a knight who sees something in this special orphan.  He is given an education and is very clever with math.  He also has a friendship with the Duke's daughter and they have a life lasting bond.  But then there's trouble.  This is Christian genre.  It's fine for reading.

The Piper’s Pursuit by Melanie Dickerson

This is the retelling of the Pied Piper and the Prodigal Son.  A young woman has an evil step father.  A problem of missing children and an infestation of rats becomes a mystery that she has to solve.  It's a clean story.  Audio book also good.  Enjoy.  Fine for any library.

I found this book very interesting.  It's good for personal collections and public libraries.  The audio book also very good.  Enjoy.

Higher is Waiting by Tyler Perry

I liked this book. The audio book was also very good.  Tyler Perry is a good role model and his faith serves him well.  Or he serves his faith well.  It's a positive book about family, some abuse and a role model for others.  I plan on getting this book for my high school library.

How to Get What You Want by Zig Ziglar

It's a good listen to.  Just to let you know it is infused with Christian lessons but they are also  good global lessons.

The Shack by Wm. Paul Young

I listened to the audio book of this version.  It's about philosophy, religion and forgiveness.  Steeped in Christian religion, it's the story of a man who looks for answers, for forgiveness and to forgive.  I think this book is terrific for any personal and public library.  It is a hard read when a parent loses a child by violence from a serial killer but there is an important message in this story and it would be up to you to read the book to find that message.  Enjoy.
