Mishka is a sweet story about a rabbit and a family. The family shares their story with their youngest who was to young to remember the trip that was so harrowing. And then the family rabbit gets out of it's hutch and they go searching for it. A good story. Fine for many young children's libraries.

The Ghost Cat is a brilliant story that follows a cat after he passes on. He has an attatchment to the little girl who rescued him and watches her as a ghost over years when he returns in different periods of time. And he also gets to see his home changes over time. A good read and travel through history.

I love Kate Dicamillo stories and I love animals. It's a silly story. I didn't love this story because Leroy didn't plan and prepare for a horse in his life. He didn't do his research. You could use this story as a teaching moment and ask readers wht should Leroy have done to prepare for an animal before he got one.

Otters almost became extinct because of over hunting for their furs off the California coast. I appreciate that these otters were telling their story of tehir experiences as rescue otters. A good book to add to elementary and middles school libraries.

War Dogs takes you down the history of how dogs served in war over centuries and across borders. A good read and a good listen as well. Go into the world of the life of soldiers and their dogs.

Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

This book is an excellent of magical realism. I listened to the audiobook and adore this story. An octopus in an aquarium in Washington state witness much. He becomes friends with the elderly cleaning lady. She is grieving the mysterious loss of her son who just disappeared. And then a different part of a story is a young man who is looking for an unknown father. A good read. Highly recommend. Remarkably Bright Creatures is the read you will be talking about. A truly good story.

Song for a Whale by Lynn Kelly is a great book for middle school students. The author has background experience interpreting for hearing impaired students. She also did some research on an actual hybrid whale that is known as the loneliest whale because of it's song is a different frequency then regular whales. The audiobook is also good. Enjoy.
