As a teacher-librarian, I have the opportunity to read young adult books to share with my students. The list that I have provided will have an overview of the book and personal comments. They are on a Book-mercial style image to get a taste of the essence of the book.

Like a Love Story by Abdi Nazemian
Flash back to 1989. AIDS is a disease that is barely talked about as people are dying from it. Reza comes into the world and knows he's attracted to boys. The girl he is dating is attracted to him and her best friend who is also gay. It's a good read. I would say read it before you decide putting this in your library.

It Ain’t So Awful, Falafel by Firoozeh Dumas
Get this book for your library. It's perfect. Humor to tell the story of being an immigrant to the US.
Learning to adapt and how parents can have a hard time adapting. It's a great read.

Darius The Great Is Not Okay by Adib Khorram
I liked this book. Is it for everyone? No but I think I will put it in my high school. There is one problem when Darius becomes self conscious about his body. He is half of two different cultures. It's an excellent book on so many levels.
