The Whisperwood Legacy by Jo Schulte I could see this being made in to a Disney Plus series. IT's good and fine to add to any high school library. A bit Gothic, Dark and dangerous. Not a slasher story but it feels like the potential to be deadly. It's a good read.

My Happy Marriage, Vol. 1 was recommended to me by a friend. Thanks Sarah Smith. I'm enjoying this series. I think it is perfect for high school graphic novel collection. Story line and illustrations are fine. Enjoy.

Where the Dark Stands Still is a fairystory that is similar to Beauty and the Beast but not quite and a few other fairy tales. It works, there's magic, witches, dangerous monsters and a guardian of the woods with a dark back story.

Elf Dog and Owl Head by M. T. Anderson

Elf Dog and Owl Head is an adorable story of a young boy on an adventure. He finds a dog, what he doesn't know is that the dog is from the fairy world. We get to hear the story through the boy's and dog's viewpoint. Imagine finding a lost dog and not knowing it's a fairy dog. You get to meet unusal people, a giant and more. What would you do for a dog or pet that you love.

The Ogress and the Orphans by Kelly Barnhill

The Ogress and the Orphans by Kelly Banhill is a perfect allegory of how mobs of people can worship a politician and believe every word they say. How kindness can make a difference. How people can be incited into a dangerous mob. A good allegory of the Nazi regime of a certain orange politician who incitied violence in a certain capital city. Yep I went down that road. It's a goo story just to read or listen to. Perfect for any school or public library. Hopefully some radical person doesn't try to ban this book. A good story with a lesson if you look for it. I plan on reading more Kelly Barnhill works.

If The Shoe Fits by Julie Murphy

Sometimes you need some cute rom-com read on your summer vacation. If The Shoe Fits is an entertaining contemporary adult fairytale remix story. Two young adults find themselves on a reality dating show after they have met earlier on a plane trip. It's a fun read.

Promchanged by Morgan Matson

Sometimes you just need a light happy story with a cute meet kind of feel to take a break from murder mysteries. Promchanted is that book. The couple go into the magic kingdom castle in Disneyland and find themselves in the actual story of Sleeping Beauty. The audiobook and story line is great. I am going to add this one to my high school library. I predict it'll be popular to read. Enjoy.

The Tales of Beedle The Bard by J. K. Rowling

If you enjoy the Harry Potter series and fairy tales, J. K. Rowling has done it again.  A good read and fine for any middle school library.  Enjoy.  Audio book also good.
 

Everland Lost Boy by Wendy Spinale

 A good story to enjoy.  I like prequels to give a back story to the character.  Enjoy.

Tales from the Hinterland by Melissa Albert

 

I love the dark German Grimm Brothers collection of fairy tales.  This is a new collection of fairy tales that are dark and grim.  A good read.

A Tale of Magic A Tale of Witchcraft by Chris Colfer

 

Chris Colfer writes great stories for both elementary and high school students. This one will be for elementary but he writes it for adults to enjoy as well.  And if you listen to the book, you get to hear the author read his book.  It's a treat.

Princess Floralinda and the Forty-Flight Tower by Tamsyn Muir

 Not your typical fairytale.  A good story.  Not sure if for high school but for sure public library.  Treat yourself to an audio listen.  Enjoy.

Aru Shah And The Tree of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi

It's a good series and will fit nicely in any middle school library.  If you like Percy Jackson series, add this to your reading list.  It's a good read.  Enjoy.

It's a strange yet fascinating story.  I listened to the audio book.  It's fine for high school.  Enjoy

I liked this series and was able to listen to the audio book.  I am going to get the book for my high school library.  I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.  Enjoy.

The Girl Who Speaks Bear by Sophie Anderson

I loved this story.  There are stories inside stories that all connect.  There is magic in this story and life lessons.  Entertaining and wise at the same time.  Enjoy.  I'm going to get for my high school library.

Hazel Wood The Night Country by Melissa Albert

It's a strange story.  I loved the first book but this one, I was a bit lost.  I would say read this one before you decide if you want this in your school library.

Rogue Princes by B. R. Myers

This is a stand alone but I hope there are  more and a series created.  It's a reverse Cinderella story.  If you enjoyed the Cinder series, you'll enjoy this.  I'm getting this for my high school library.  Filled with romance and adventure.  Better then any movie could dream up.  Enjoy.

The Folk of the Air The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black

Aah, the last book ... or is it?  All is not well with the Fair Folk.  It is worse if you are a mortal person.  Lots of violence.  It's fine.
