When Among Crows by Veronica Roth

When Among Crows by Veronica Roth comes from a Polish saying. It's a complex story that works beautifuly. I would say this is reading level for adults and not fitting into a high school library. I chose this book because I enjoy reading Roth's work and what a pretty cover. The voice actors did a great job. Lots of underworld characters and action. Love Baba Jaga. Enjoy.

The Letter For The King by Tonke Dragt

Think Lord of the Rings with out Elves, magic, wizards and other magical creatures.  It's an epic journey for a young man who becomes a bit more worldly.  Facing danger and friendship, follow this journey as he travels for the first time on the fly on a secret mission.  It's a good read and fine for any high school library.  Enjoy.

Shadow of the Fox Night of the Dragon by Julie Kagawa

I love this series.  I am so getting this for my high school library.  It's a page turner of never ending danger, rich words and a great story.  If I were to have a fantasy dinner party and could invite authors, Julie Kagawa would be on the list.  She can tell a story.  Each book gets better and better.  A big thank you.  Also audio book is great and I would invite the reader also to the dinner party.

Shadow of the Fox Soul of the Sword by Julie Kagawa

I love this series.  It's perfect for middle school and high school libraries.  I like that it brings in Japanese elements in to the story.  The characters and plot is solid.  Enjoy.  Also audio book very good.

The Goldfish Boy by Lisa Thompson

This is a good read.  Matt has some sever mental anguish after the loss of his infant brother.  When a neighbor's grandson goes missing, Matt was the last one to see the boy from his bedroom window.It's a heartfelt story.   

The Heir Chronicles The Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima

A teacher recommended this to me years ago and I'm glad I read it.  I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.  You'll like the characters unless of course they are the bad guys.  It's a great read and fine for any middle school or high school library.  Enjoy.

Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller

Today is International Woman's Day.  This book fits in perfectly for today.  Rasmira is a smart clever girl who plans and trains for what she wants or needs to happen to make her community better.  It's a smart book and I plan to order for my high school library.

Unhooked by Lisa Maxwell

It's a modern retelling of the story Peter Pan with a whole different perspective.  It's fine for any high school library.

Shadow Magic Dream Magic by Joshua Khan

This is a good add to any school library.  Think Harry Potter goes back to ancient times and you've got a great series.  I'm already starting the third book in this series.  It's a good buy and a good read.  Enjoy.

Shimmer and Burn Splendor and Spark by Mary Taranta

I like this series and will get for my high school library.  There's some good tension that builds with a princess who is determined to get what she wants.  A king who is cruel and forces everyone for a loyalty oath that makes people slaves to him and a Faris who wants to save her sister, and has a special magic pushed into her by her mother.  She's a secret weapon.  Plus there's a love interest.  Enjoy.

Shadow Magic by Joshua khan

This is a smart series.  I'm looking forward to reading the next book.  I was entertained and enjoyed the adventure.  It was well crafted.  It's a good read and perfect for any library.  Enjoy.

Wow, this is a great read.  If you like the Lord of the Rings series then this is the series for you.  Ignore the movie that starts the original series.  Hollywood rarely gets it right.  Perfect for any school library.  Enjoy.

Perfect for any school library.  It is dark but those who enjoy Lord of the Rings, will enjoy this story that continues The Apprentice series.  Does not disappoint.  Enjoy.

Agincourt by Bernard Cornwell

Oh my goodness, this is a challenging read.  War at any time in history is horrible and this is brutal.  1415 was an intense year and  people were not nice.  Those with power were abusive to those who were not.  It's an incredible book, based on a true epic historic event.  The narrative takes us through the story with Nick Hook who is an incredible archer.  It's a solid read and a good audiobook.  We should read these historic stories.... no matter what time frame from now to the past so we can learn to be better people and understand how brutal war is.

Richard Sharpe: Sharpe’s Riffles by Bernard Cornwell

Oh it's a good one.  Enjoy adventure, romance, danger and face the scariness of warfare.  The tragedy of death.  Napoleon has sent his French armies to take over Spain.  Richard Sharpe is an office with the British Army.  It's a good read and a good listen.  Enjoy.

Song of the Current: by Sarah Tolcser

It's a good read and it's a good audio book.  Good plot with good twists.  The girl is the hero and must make difficult choices.  Adventure and danger, mystery and romance makes this a good story.  Will get for my high school library.  Enjoy. Set in an alternate universe.  Enjoy.

Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard: The Ship of the Dead by Rick Riordan

Rick Riordan is an author who can bring various cultural mythology to life in a contemporary time.  It's entertaining and a fun read.  Enjoy.

Have Sword, Will Travel by Garth Nix & Sean Williams

This great for elementary and middle school high schools.  The audio book is very entertaining.  I love that even the sword has it's own personality.  Reminds me of the Magnus Chase series.  Enjoy.

A Rebel in the Sands Novel: Traitor to the Throne by Alwyn Hamilton

I am buying this series for the library.  Thing a dessert Lord of the Rings with sultan and harems, genies and shapeshifter.  And who is betraying who.  It's a great series.  Enjoy.

Given Duet: Given to the Sea by Mindy McGinnis

It's an interesting story.  I won't get for the school library but it's great for the public library.
