A Jewish older sister falls in love with a young man from India. They elope and both sets of parents are not happy about it. The younger sister misses her sister very much. School is also challenging for her, writing and shaping letters is really difficult for her. A good read.

Sunny G's Series of Rash Decisions is set in Fresno. My new hometown. I'm getting this for my high school library. I think my Sikh and Hmong students may get something out of this story.

Warrior Girl Unearthed by Angeline Boulley

Warrior Girl Unearthed by Angeline Boulley is a book that should be added to high school libraries, it highlights the indigeonous people, working to get back ancesteral artifacts and remains. This book feels authentic and brings you into the story by the perspective of Perry, a teen girl who is learnign more about her tribe then she ever thougth she would and about herself as well. She takes dangerous risks to make things right, She is in more trouble then she realizes. A good read and I would also recommending audiobook version just to hear the cadence of the speach and hearing the story.

American Betiya by Anuradha d. Rajurkar

 Not for Public School libraries.  There's a lot of sneaking around, sex and an almost attempted suicide.

I read it all the way through but really wanted to do a DNF (Did not finish).  Before you put this in your library, read it and/or research before you get.

Undefeated by Steve Sheinkin

True story about Jim Thorpe and Pop Warner.  Jim played football and base ball and even did track.  He was a natural athlete who made it to the Olympics in Europe.  It's an eye opener for all that Jim had to face.  It's a good read and a good audio book.  Add this one to your library.

I am getting this for my high school.  It's a sweet romance story fine for any high school.  Perfect for any high school library.  I appreciate the inclusion of the Indian culture.  It's a good read.  Enjoy.  Audio book also very good.

My So Called Bollywood Life by Nisha Sharma

I liked this story it's a bit like an Indian Pride and Prejudice set in modern times.  It's a cute read.  Enjoy. 

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

This is a cute story and a glimpse of life in an Indian family's life.  Dimple and Rashi do have a connection of the intimate nature just to be aware.  The book is a good read.  Or a good audio book listen.
