 I'm going to add this book to my high school library because the book was created with great dignity and touching truth.  It's a good read and also fine for elementary and middle school libraries.

This Very Tree by Sean Rubin

 This gentle book is an excellent book to add to any library no matter what grade.  The focus is on the survival of the book.  20 years later this tree has lived on.  A good book to add.  

Ground Zero by Alan Gratz

 Add this one to your school library.  Especially when you want to help students understand the past and the present.  Bringing the story to a personal level.  A good read and a good listen.

All We Have Left by Wendy Mills

Get this book in your library now.  It is an excellent read.  Grief, understanding, anger and pain coupled with family dysfunction and things not said makes this a woven story of two time frames of a tragic time and years later.  A sister who was very little when her brother died.  A scarf, a knife and story uncovered when the truth is sought.  A powerful read.  You are taken in to the towers in a time when destruction and urgency lead to survival.

Towers Falling by Jewell Parker-Rhodes

This book is fine.  A young girl living in New York City in a homeless shelter is also sheltered from the knowledge of the days the Twin Towers fell.  The story has her making friends with diverse students in a new school.  It's fine for any library.

Hope and Other Punch Lines by Julie Buxbaum

I really liked this story.  I just got it and liked how things tied together.  I'm getting for my high school library.  Enjoy.

A Very Large Expanse of Sea by Tahereh Mafi

I think that this is an important story to add to high school libraries.  It brings in culture and bullying and growing and maturing.  A must read for all.

America is Under Attack by Don Brown

This book would fit any unit teaching what happened in 9-11.  It's eye witness accounts, personal stories done well.  Good job to Don Brown!

14 Cows for America by Carmen Deedy

This amazing true story is filled with deep compassion from a county far away on another continent.  The events of September 11 touches the hearts of the Massai people in a little village when one of their own returns from New York to share the story.  The images are as powerful as the story.  This is a story that can be shared with any classroom.

Fireboat by Maira Kalman

This amazing story is well done.  Nice background history of the 1930s in New York.  The images created work well for younger generations and still engage teens.  Written for little ones up to adults.  Heroes can come in all shapes and sizes.
