Martin McLean, Middle School Queen by Alyssa Zaczek I lilked this book. I think we need more middle school books for LGBTQ. It's a sweet story of a boy figuring out who he is and has the support of his family and friends. Let's face it, it's not easy being a middle school kid. Fine for any school library.

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller is definitely and adult book. There are a few highly romantic scenes. What I appreciate is that it's all nuanced but still you know what is happening. One of my high school students read it on his own and liked it. So I would say perfect for public library and private reading but not for high school libraries. Having said that, it is a good book and well written and follows the Achilles myth very well. It is good literature geared more for adults. The audiobook is also very good.

The Moth Keeper by K. O'Neill

The Moth Keeper is a lovely graphic novel with a diverse community that works together. A young girl becomes an apprentice to help take care of special moths that help plants grow. She must help fix an error when she loses the moths. A good read.

Wynd #1 Wynd, Book One: The Flight of the Prince by James Tynion IV (Writer) , Michael Dialynas (Illustrator) , Aditya Bidikar (Letterer)

Wynd, book one is fine for graphic novels to add to high school libraries. It has adventure, danger, evil villians and survival. There is a form of racism and people working together to help each other. A good read.

Imogen, Obviously by Becky Albertalli

This is a book for teens who have friends who are in the LGBTQ or have friends/family in the LGBTQ community. Of if they are questioning who they are. Heads up there's F*bombs and drinking alochol.

The Princess and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich by Deya Muniz

The Princess and The Grilled Cheese Sandwich is loaded with lots of cheesy jokes in the story line. Literally cheesy. The young woman in diguise ends up falling in love with the princess. The princess discovers her secret and that changes everything. Fine for high school libraries.

Take Me With You When You Go by David Levithan , Jennifer Niven

Take Me With You When You Go is a story that follows the two siblings and the people around them. The brother has to deal with the two parents and it becomes too much. A poinant story.

Komi Can’t Communicate, Vol. 1 by Tomohito Oda

Komi Can't Communicate is a like able story line. I think some people can relate to not being able to speak aloud and can relate to Komi. Tadano is a helpful friend who makes a good difference in her life. This is a sweet and funny story. Drawings are fine for school libraries.

Soul of Stars is a science fiction story, part 2. There is a cast of characters with their own back stories to create a unified story. Good vs Evil in science fiction story. Enjoy.

Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree

Legends & Lattes is a great read/listen. I hope more books are written with these characters. I like how the community rallied together for this former soldier. A good read.

The Lost Story by Meg Shaffer

The Lost Story is a magical story set contemporary times. I was able to listen to the audiobook. Two worlds that merge and that is lost is then found. Two boys come back changed after spending much time in the forest and one is not able to remember their time there. A mystery and then there is the girl who was lost in the same forest before them. A sister is know old enough to look for her. A good read.

Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Finney Boyland

This is definitely an adult book which revolves around two teens. Mad Honey is told in two viewpoints, A mother who is a bee keeper and Lilly the girlfriend. They both have their secrets and they are revealed at court. It's a good story. I listened to the book and at the end both authors speak about their collaboration. It's a good read.

Faith taking Flight by Julie Murphy

Faith Taking Flight by Julie Murphy has a lot going on in it. I don't think I'll be putting it in my high school library. The story really didn't grab me. I felt there was just way to much going on with it. But I'm glad the public library does carry it.

To Night Owl From Dogfish by Holly Goldeberg Sloan and Meg Wolitzer

To Night Owl from Dogfish is an adorable story. Using Emails to tell the story, two girls from different coasts find out that they are going to be in summer camp together and that their fathers will be taking a trip to China while they are in camp. It's a story about building a friendship, family and what makes a family. It's a lovely story about growing up and how relationships can change. A good story. Enjoy.

The Library Thief by Kuchenga Shenje

The Library Thief is definitely adult. There is a rape scene just for a heads up. It's a good book but not for high school. A young woman is taken advantage of by an entitled man, brother of the man who hired her. Her father had kicked her out because she was with a man she thought she loved and it turns out he didn't love her. The girl also finds out she has a black mother. She didn't realize until later, since her mother died in childbirth. It's not an easy read. It's between Downton Abbey and Northanger Abbey. I listened to the audiobook. It's fine. A bit dark.

The Sun And The Star by Rick Riordan & Mark Oshiro

Camp Half Blood Stories continue with The Sun and The Star. THe audiobook is also good to listen to. FIne for school libraries. I would say middle school level.
