What It Takes To Save A Life is a great book to read. It's good to know that there are people helping others in difficult situations. Kwame brings insight into the world of the homelessness. A very good book to read or listen to.

War Dogs: Tales of Canine Heroism, History, and Love by Rebecca Frankel

War Dogs takes you down the history of how dogs served in war over centuries and across borders. A good read and a good listen as well. Go into the world of the life of soldiers and their dogs.

Angus and Sadie by Cynthia Voigt

Angus and Sadie presents both the dogs and how they think and also the farm couple and what they are thinking. It's a sweet little story. I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook. It's fine for any children's library. And a good read aloud.

Road Trip by Gary and Jim Paulsen

A great book to read written by father and son about the relationship of a father and son.  Rescue dogs are the catalyst but finding what family is about and making friends is a great read.  Enjoy.

Wonderous Rex by Patricia MacLachlan

 This is an entertaining book for young people who like dogs.  It's a sweet read.  It's a gentle read. Fine for any young reader's library.

Chet and Bernie Tender is the Bite by Spencer Quinn

 A good cozy mystery to read.  Reads like a gumshoe novel.  Lots of action in this one.  Enjoy.

A good book to add to any middle school library.  Narrated by Cole, you hear the concerns that Cole has about his father and the dog.  A good book.

 A good book to add to any library.  I'm thinking about adding it to my high school library to help young people manage their dogs.  

Wonderland by Barbara O’Connor

 It's  a sweet story that is fine to add to any older elementary and middle school library.  It's about friendship, family and growing up. Oh and wait rescuing dogs.  (I love a good rescue dog story, .... hm wonder why?)

Bad Bella by Ali Standish

 I have rescue dogs and have rescued strays so this story was touching for me.  The story is told in Bella's point of view.  You find out what she is thinking and what she experienced.  A good book to teach children about taking care of dogs.  Fine for any school library.

A Dog’s Perfect Christmas by W. Bruce Cameron

It's a good read.  A nice study of each family member and it's always better when there's a dog in it.

Rescue Dogs Ember by Mason and Stephens

 You had me at Dog.  Lots of different characters in this story, especially the children, it's a big family.  The focus is on the dog with side stories.  Ember is the hero of the story, starting as energetic and unfocused, and ends up learning her job.  I like how they walk you through the training process.  Is it a classic, no but it is good book to add to a library.  Enjoy.

A Dog Called Homeless by Sarah Lean

 This book is pretty special.  What supports the story, is her new neighbors, and the little boy who is blind and partly deaf.  His mom, is a kind lady who helps the family that is grieving and a father who must be bread earner and mom and dad to two children.  The dog and the homeless man is the icing in the story as the girl is the only one who can see her dead mother, or can someone else see her as well?  A good book.  Add to any middle school or elementary school.

The One and Only Bob by Katherine Applegate

 Bob is one street wise dog who finds a home and friends.  This touching book will be a welcome addition to any elementary and middle school library.  Hear Bob's story from his voice.  A good read.

Stay by Bobbie Pyron

 

It is a very good story and a good fit for middle school libraries.  Elementary also.  Brings compassion, and helping others into the story.  Well done.  A good read.

How I Became A Spy by Deborah Hopkinson

Everything was a bit to pat in this story.  He meets the right people, they have the right skills.

It was alright.  It's fine for any library  Just not my favorite.  It wasn't believable for me.  

Pig the Stinker by Aaron Blabey

Too cute.  If you are a pug fan, you'll enjoy this.  Great images and a funny story are paired to make a funny picture book.  Enjoy.  fine for any library.
