After the Shot Drops is a good book to add. It's a bit hard to read because a cousin makes bad choices. There is gambling and some fbombs. A friendship between the two boys is jeapordize when one goes to a posh school to help him get college which is helpful because money is pretty tight. A gun forshadows events to come.

It's a good story.  Some mature content but still a good story.  I would advise read the book to see if this will fit your library and student reading needs.  

 

Dragon Hoops by Gene Luen Yang

This book is a brilliant book.  There is a dark side about an event that happened with one coach that comes to light, just a heads up.  It's about the author, learning about basketball and how it connects with his school, where he teaches.  We get to meet the coaches, players, parents and others.  The drawing of the book is smartly done.  I am getting this for my high school library. 

The Wizenard Series Training Camp by Bryant & King

Think Harry Potter meets the basketball courts.  A group of boys become united in shared magical experiences, face fears and life lessons to make them a stronger team.  This is all done with the magic of one wizard coach.  It's a good read and can be a welcome addition to any school or personal library.  The audio book also very good.  Enjoy.

Here To Stay by Sara Farizan

What I liked about the book is that it brings in problems that Middle Eastern teens may face in bullying.  What I didn't like was how the dialog seemed a little to advanced for some of the teens.
It's fine for any high school but it's not my favorite in writing.  Two girls are also bullied because they are starting to become a couple.

The Moves Make The Man by Bruce Brooks

This has so many layers to it.  It's about Jerome and his family.  It's about Bix and his family.  I have a feeling Bix might be in the Autistic spectrum. It's about racism. It's about mental health, and suicide.  It's about basketball and baseball.  It's about facing the truth.  It is a good read but a difficult read as well.

Mickey Bolitar series: Found by Harlan Coben

This is my new favorite series.  I couldn't wait to get home from work to read this one.  It's the final conclusion of a real page turner.  Lots of mysteries in each book, friendship and adversary, secrets waiting to be uncovered.  It's perfect for any high school library.  Good guy's read also.

Mickey Bolitar: Seconds Away by Harlan Coben

I love this series!  I will buy it for my high school library.  This is easily going to be a popular read.  Perfect for any library.  It's solid.  Great story, good drama and built up suspense.  Characters are well developed and the friendship that they build under unusual circumstances works.  Mystery to move the story along.

Mickey Bolitar Series: Shelter By Harlan Coben

I am buying this book for my high school library.  Exciting and a page turner.  It's a solid story.  Mystery and helping others.  Perfect for high schools and perfect for a good guy read.  Trust me, this is a keeper!  It has everything to make this a must read book.

CrossOver by Kwame Alexander

This story is told in verse,  I was lucky to hear the audio book.  Great story about two brothers who were close, then not.  Then together they face their father's health crisis.
