Tokyo Ever After by Emiko Jean
I look forward to book 2 on this sweet series. You have to adore this spunky Japanese American girl as she goes to Japan and learns that there are differences in her culture and Japanese. She also meets a body guard that she becomes friends with. She makes an impression in her new world. a good read.
Lost in the Never Woods by Aiden Thomas
I had to stick with the story and I am glad that I did. Worth the read. It's a bit of a murder mystery. I would say read first before putting in a school library.
Unbirthday by Liz Braswell
Take a children's classic novel and update it for teens and this is a good series to enjoy. Fine for any high school library.
Down Comes the Night by Allison Saft
I wasn't really into this story. I would say read it before you put it in a high school library. It felt a bit muddled.
A Tourist Trap Mystery Picture Perfect Frame by Lynn Cahoon
I enjoy the Tourist Trap Mystery. I wish I could go visit the town. It reminds me of the Pismo and Solvang area. A good summer read or anytime read. Enjoy.
A Morbid Taste for Bones by Ellis Peters
A good read. But a heavy read. If you like murder mysteries and historic settings, then you'll enjoy this book.
The Joy Luck Club By Amy Tan
This is now a long classic book taught in high school. I had seen the movie years ago and just finished the audio book. Loaded with conflict, secrets, hope and over all love. A good story to enjoy, learn and understand culture and families.

Malcolm X By Any Means Necessary by Walter Dean Myers
Add this one to your high school library. It's a good read about a man who was a major part of history from the 60s. Audio book also very good.

The Canyon’s Edge by Dusti Bowling
Wow, this is a great story. A real page turner. Nora is lost in the desert and has all sorts of challenges and injuries. She goes in search of her father. Hoping he is alive but fearing the worst. The flash flood separates them and also takes away many of their supplies. A good read. Add this to your middle school library.

The Do-Over The Cheat by Sarah Richman
Written for easy reading, it's fine. There is a lesson to the story but it is not preachy. It's fine for middle school to read.
The Revenge of Magic by James Riley
It will fit well with middle school and upper elementary schools. I think it is entertaining for this age group. It's not Harry Potter but it does have a mystery and magical books. It's fine for middle school libraries.
Earwig and the Witch by Diana Wynne Jones
This is a very entertaining book to read or to read aloud. You have got to love the pluckiness of Earwig. A good read.
Bread Shop Mystery Crust No One by Winnie Archer
I'm addicted to murder mysteries especially with charming settings and main characters that are interesting. Enjoy this mystery. I know I plan on reading this series.

Cassidy Blake Bridge Of Souls by Victoria Schwab
It's a nice series to add to a middle school library collection. There are three main characters that team up and help each other send ghosts on to their journey and leave where they are stuck at. Enjoy.
Perfect On Paper by Sophie Gonzales
I found this book charming. I would add it to my high school library. School times can be a bit muddled and friendships adjust or go a bit wonky. This is a good one to add to high school libraries.
The Only Black Girls in Town by Brandy Colbert
Add this one to your middle school library. A perfect book about being girls in middle school and having different backgrounds. When another black girl shows up but is way different because of the New York City Vibe and a dad who is divorced for her mom and rarely shows up because of his job, the dynamics change between the kids in school. The mystery of the journals gets them interested in researching who this person is based on clues left behind in the journal. A good read. An important read.
