This was one of my favorite stories growing up so reading a retelling was a treat. It's an excellent book for an avid reader of fairy tales. Is it for everyone, no. It's fine for any library but the story dialog is written in a stilted English of old. Think Shakespeare style. The story is solid but may turn off to reluctant readers.
