As a teacher-librarian, I have the opportunity to read young adult books to share with my students. The list that I have provided will have an overview of the book and personal comments. They are on a Book-mercial style image to get a taste of the essence of the book.

Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier
Interesting time travel book. Fine for any library. This book left me with lots of questions about the girl's choice of action. It's an okay story. I think some students will enjoy.

The Luck Uglies by Paul Durham
This is a great new book. Part fantasy, part old world, part tiny bit magic all rolled up into an adventure. Perfect for any elementary or middle school library. I look forward to book 2.
What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen
It's Sarah Dessen. She's perfect for young adult readers. Perfect for any high school. Sarah Dessen is a good go to author. She never lets you down. Good plot, good character and not formulaic. Thanks Sarah. Loved this one.

Counting by 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan
Red is Willow's favorite color. 7 is Willow's favorite number. Willow is a very interesting girl. She brings people together in a very special way. This is a strong story line with very diverse characters. It's about connecting in the nature of life. Perfect for any library shelf. If you have a very special person in your life that may be in the spectrum, this might be a book to consider.

Ignite by Sara B. Larson
I loved the first book but the second book seems a bit muddled in the plot and character development.
It's still fine just not as page turning. I will still read book 3 when it comes out though.

The Penderwicks on Gardeam Street by Jeanne Birdsall
This is a great book for any library. Any. Library. It's about family. It's a sweet story about rebuilding and recovering from the loss of a wife and mother. It's also about growing up. I wish this family lived in my neighborhood.

Wish by Alexandra Bullen
I read the second book first and loved the concept of three dress and three wishes. It's great for any teen library. It's about second chances and saying good bye. It's a good story and a good read.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
Supernaturally by Kiersten White

A Million Suns by Beth Revis
Book 2 does not disappoint. Elder has let his people off the mind control drugs and has been honest with them. There is a serial killer on board. Secrets are coming out and building up. Great character development, great story plot and over all a good book to put on teen library shelves. If you like science fiction, here you go!

Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library by Chris Grabenstein
This is a fun book to read if you are a reader! It's about title dropping and learning to use the library. It's about playing games and team work. If you love the library, there you go read this book. If you love to read, there you go, read this book. Oh heck! Just read the book. Have fun!
The Glass Sentence by S. E. Grove
Think Harry Potter (with out the magic) meets His Dark Materials and you get a fresh unusual story. The world is all jumbled up and divided by a glitch in time to create different eras or time periods.
It's an adventure.
It's an adventure.

Booty Bones by Carolyn Haines
This is just a fun mystery to read. It's contemporary but there is a ghost from the past in history that has family connections. The ghost is the nicest ghost that helps Sarah and gives her messages. This is a great mystery. It's my first in this series. I just dived in and you know what, you get the back story. Great danger and great mystery. Also good dialog and I love her animals that she takes on vacation. Her friends are pretty great too! I would read more of this series. Enjoy! Oh probably for adult reading. It's easy to read and there's no mature content concerns. I think teens would probably like reading this but not for a teen library. Again, enjoy for vacation reading.

Across the Universe by Beth Revis
First: I loved this story! This is an excellent story, well thought out and strong character development as well as plot. It is an good story. But, I must warn the reader that there is an attempted rape scene and also so mating (not graphic) scenes. Having said this, I'm just going to say this is a good story but I would suggest mature readers. I look forward to reading book 2.
