 It's a murder mystery series that I enjoy.  The characters and dynamics are entertaining.  I enjoy listening to the audio books while I am driving and doing errands.

Orphan Monster Spy by Matt Killeen

 I couldn't sleep till I finished this book.  It's intense.  A good book.  A spy story of a girl who must become a spy for survival.  She's a smart girl who must respond quickly.  Always endanger and works with a man who she helps on his missions and then there are times when she must take charger.  A good read and a good audio book. I'm adding to my high school library.

I Don’t Want TO Be Crazy by Samantha Schultz

 True story of Samantha Schultz.  She writes about her life, coping and not coping with anxiety attacks and mental health problems.  She writes about traveling overseas, working and going to college as well as social life.  Brings insight in what people are feeling or thinking when they are affected by mental health problems.

No Time Like The Future by Michael J. Fox

 A good book.  I listened to his audio book where he is reading his book.  I feel like I grew up with Michael J. Fox, watching his TV shows and movies.  A talented man who makes a positive difference in the world.  

The Cousins by Karen M. McManus

 Yep, I'm getting this one for the library.  Not quite horror by a good mystery thriller.  Add this to your high school library.

Clown in the Cornfield by Adam Cesare

 Every once in a while, a like a good thriller.  This is one right out of the movies and other clown stories.  It's a good one.  There a hints of paranormal but it's not what you think.  Add this one to your high school library.  Note:  there's not really paranormal but the book plays with your mind 

Meg Langslow Mystery The Gift Of The Magpie by Donna Andrews

 A Christmas Time Mystery.  I love that the community comes together to help their fellow members in need.  You would want Meg and her family living next to you.  Enjoy.

A Beechwood Harbor Ghost Mystery When Good Ghosts Get The Blues by Danielle Garrett

 Snappy dialog, interesting plot and some sassy ghosts make this story entertaining.  A good read or listen.  Enjoy.

A Goldy Bear Culinary Mystery Sticks & Scones by Diane Mott Davidson

 Love them murder mysteries.  A good read.  Enjoy or enjoy listening to the audio book.

A Yarn Retreat Mystery Knot on Your Life by Betty Hechtman

 Written in the Monterey area, in the area I visited since I lived in the area.  Hence, I really enjoy the books because I can actually visualize the places the author described.  Maybe a few changes in names of places.  Take a mental trip to Monterey with this murder mystery.  Enjoy a good read or listen.

A Lady’s Guide to Gossip and Murder by Dianne Freeman

 10 percent romance, 90 percent mystery and 100 percent fun to read.  Enjoy this murder mystery.  Audio book also good.  I'm on vacation and am mixing my favorite genre.  Enjoy.

Jackaby The Dire King by William Ritter

 It all comes to an end with this final installment.  Or is it???? hmmm.  It's fine to add this dark paranormal story to a high school library.  A good read and a good listen.  Enjoy.

Jackaby Ghostly Echoes By William Ritter

 If the TV show Supernatural show was set in the late 1800's/early 1900s, you would have the Jackaby series.  It's a great read.  A dark read but also really good.  I plan on getting the series for my school library.  Audio book also good.  Enjoy.

Jackaby Beastly Bones by William Ritter

 This is a great series.  A bit dark.  If you like the TV show Supernatural, then take that and send it to the late 1800's / early 1900's.  It's a smart series and would do great to grace the shelves of high school libraries anywhere.  Enjoy.  Audio book also good.

The Queen’s Thief Return of the Thief by Megan Whalen Turner

 I love this series.  It's taken years to write it and worth it. If you like The False Prince series, you'll enjoy this as well.  I love how smart the two main characters are in,  with false bravo and a sassy outlook.  There's war looming and getting out of traps.  Enjoy the read!

Pirate Stew by Neil Gaiman

 This book is perfect for Talk Like A Pirate Day. Looking for a fun read aloud book?  Here you go.  The illustrations are fun to look at.  If you get the audio book, the author reads the book.  He is a very good speaker and any book of his he reads, it's a treat to listen to his voice.  He knows how to tell a story.

Mrs. Pollifax A Palm For Mrs. Pollifax by Dorothy Gilman

I love this vintage series.  It's great fun to read/hear the adventures of an older lady finding a second life as a spy.  She travels all over the world and finds more then she bargains for.  A great read!
 

Land of Cranes by Aida Salazar

 Wow, the content in this story alone is eye-opening.  The book is written in a beautiful imagery even though the content gets ugly in how people are treated so disrespectfully.  How many people have similar stories as this one?  Because of content, I would say older readers, middle school and up.

Monstrous Devices By Damien Love

 This is fantasy, is a real nonstop adventure.  Lots of chases and danger.  Fine for any school library.

Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir

 

I got lost in this book and not in a good way.  I didn't get it and decided not to finish the book.  It's rare that I do that but I did.  Looking at Good Reads and people either like the book or they don't. 

Christmas Stories Christmas Revelation by Anne Perry

I like Anne Perry, Christmas Stories series.  I never know where the story is going to take me.  This series is historical.  It's not the cute murder mystery.  A bit more darker.  Enjoy.

A short story about Christmas and back in the time of the 1800's in England and Scotland.  A bit of a mystery to keep one interested.

Spinning in Her Grave by Molly MacRae

 I'm hooked on murder mysteries since I was a kid reading Ellery Queen, Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie.  This is a cute series to enjoy.

Chaotic Goods by Whitney Gardener

 

I liked this story.  Cameron and her family are supportive of each other.  She is a talented artist working towards her goal for creating costumes for movies.  When the owner of a comic shop patronizers her and makes her and other girls sound like they aren't ready for certain comics that only boys would like, she decides to teach him a lesson by disguising herself as a guy.

She also get's cyber bullied which goes as far as calling her very bad names, giving out an old address that she use to live and making her feel very scared for her life.

Audio book also good.

A Promised Land by Barack Obama

 I loved this book.  It pairs nicely with his wife's book. I highly recommend the audio book.  It is a great book and a chance to go back in the past and see it through Obama's eyes.  

You Lucky dog by Julia London

 This is a very cute story and enjoyable.  It is adult and there are some mature themes (sex).  I liked the layers of how complicated the two characters are and the dogs makes this story just fun.  Audio book also good.  enjoy.

Watch Over Me by Nina LaCour

 Wow this is one intense read.  I couldn't put it down.  It's different but I think it would be fine for high school libraries.  Very dark and then charged with emotion at the end.

A Midsummer Night’s Scream by R. L. Stine

 At first, I was annoyed by the vapid teens but then the thriller part kicked in and I was hooked.  It follows all the tenants of a traditional horror teen movie.  Not boring at all.  A good build up of suspense.  Enjoy.  Fine for any school library.

The Incredibly Dead Pets of Rex Dexter by Aaron Reynolds

 It's a bit silly.  Remember the movie, Big?  well part of the plot in this story.  Not my favorite.

Permafrost Goblin King by Kara Barbieri

 An interesting read that continues the saga.  It's all right. Not as impressed.

Permafrost White Stag by Kara Barbieri

I think that this is a book that fits in public libraries.  I would say read before you put it in a school library.  This didn't wow me as other books. It's okay.  a few f*bombs.  

 

The Other Side o f the Sky by Kaufman and Spooner

 If you have students or adult readers who enjoy Science Fiction, then I would recommend this book.  I don't know if this will appeal to everyone, but I know if you have a fan of science fiction, they should give this book a chance.

Mure Christmas at the Island Hotel by Jenny Colgan

 I love this series for adult reading.  I would love to move to this Scottish island if it were real.. The community is tight and filled with so many special people.  They have become like family.  It's a good read.  Enjoy.

Klawde Evil Warlord Cat by Johnny Marcianos

It's fine a bit silly but fine for a young school library.

 

If I Ever Get Out Of Here by Eric Gansworth

 I find this as an important story.  It's a friendship book of boys from two worlds.  It also shows bullies and dealing with them.  And there are good adults out there.  I would add this to my school library.  IT's a good read.

Meg Langslow Mystery Some Like It Hawk by Donna Andrews

 I'm hooked on this series.  It's a good murder mystery.  Enjoy.

Eve & Adam by Grant and Applegate

 I actually liked this story.  I know both authors are good for writing for Young Adult books.  I liked the book.  There is some violence in the book, a minor character gets in trouble and is beat up and a girl also gets beat up.  Over all it's fine.  Maybe a few f-bombs.

Bailey Ruth Ghost at Work by Carolyn Hart

 You are going to fall in love with Bailey Ruth.  She's like Lucy and Ethel rolled in together.  She is one smart cookie and does a great job as a ghost detective.  Enjoy.

A Haunted Yarn Shop Mystery Plagued by Quilt by Molly MacRae

 It's a good read.  If you are looking for a good murder mystery in a light writing style,  add this one to your reading list.  

Ranger’s Apprentice The Royal Ranger The Missing Prince by John Flanagan

 I love this series.  Put this series in your library and it doesn't matter what grade level.  Even for adults!

A great cast of characters.  Enjoy reading or listening to fun series filled with danger.

Riding Freedom by Pam Munoz Ryan

 Pam Munoz Ryan crafts a story based on the facts known of Charlie, Charlotte Parkhurst.  I remember hearing about her story growing up in Hollister because she worked her later part of her life in Santa Cruz, Watsonville and the San Juan Batista area.  A great read of the 1800's about a brave woman who had to survive the best she can,.

The Greatest Treasure Hunt in History by Robert M. Edsel

 

If you have seen Monuments Men, you know how great it is.  The book is also great.  This is a good book for middle and high school libraries.  An amazing story.  Enjoy this book either by reading or listening to.  

Fly on the Wall by Remy Lai

 Add this graphic novel to your middle school and elementary school library.  The adventure and being the youngest, is relatable.  Great graphics too.  Enjoy.

Schooled by Gordon Korman

 Gordon Korman knows how to tell a story for young boys.  This is a great for middle school and high school.  The characters in this story are good foils who play off each other.  An innocent young man and a bully.  Hippie times in the current world.  Growth and maturity evolving with in many characters.  A good read and also a good audio book.  Enjoy.

Magic Lessons by Alice Hoffman

 If you have seen Practical Magic with Nicole Kidman and also Sandra Bullock, then this is the story of their family history.  I have read the three books that go in this series.  This one is is one of her best works, Alice Hoffman must have a bit of magic in her to craft words together to create her stories.  Enjoy,  audio books are also good.  

Dinosaur Lady by Skeers & Miguens

 

Add this picture book to your school libraries of all grades including high school.  Great illustrations with text that is well thought out to read about Mary Anning.  A good read.  Enjoy.

The King of Kindergarten by Barnes and Brantley-Newton

 A good book to read to little people who are going to start their first day to Kindergarten.  Great pictures and a positive message.  Would make a good gift.
