Where the Dark Stands Still by A.B. Poranek
Where the Dark Stands Still is a fairystory that is similar to Beauty and the Beast but not quite and a few other fairy tales. It works, there's magic, witches, dangerous monsters and a guardian of the woods with a dark back story.
