The Phone Booth at the Edge of the World by Laura Imai Messina

The Phone Booth at The Edge of the World is a healing book about grief. A good book to read or listen too. If you haven't seen the Tsunami that hit Japan in 2011 or so, it's haunting. Travel to Japan and visit the wind phone as many people grieve in their own way, to talk to who they have lost.

Three Ordinary Girls: The Remarkable Story of Three Dutch Teenagers Who Became Spies, Saboteurs, Nazi Assassins–and WWII Heroes by Tim Brady

Three Ordinary Girls are far from being ordinary. This is an important book to read the record of history of people who made courageous choices, sacrificing much to free people from the cruel dangerous Nazis. A good read. Add this one to your high school library.

Olivetti by Allie Millington

Olivetti is a fantastic book! The story is told by an old typewriter and a boy missing his mother who just took off for no appartent reason. the typewritter breaks the rule and starts typing notes to the boy to help the boy discover what happened to his mother. A great read!

Not Here to Be Liked by Michelle Quach

Not Here To Be Liked, is a story line that I ended up liking. The story line grew on me. It's fine for high school libraries.

Reckless by Lauren Roberts

Reckless is a YA book that has conflicted feelings of love and hate. It works. I think its fine for public libraries. It's fine for high school library. There is some violence as in fighting to escape or save your life or die situation but not graphic.

This is a book for teens who have friends who are in the LGBTQ or have friends/family in the LGBTQ community. Of if they are questioning who they are. Heads up there's F*bombs and drinking alochol.

Pour-Over Predicament by Tonya Kappes

Pour-over Predicament is a cozy murder mystery. Bodies start stacking up in a sweet little folksy town. An entertaining story.

Fire Power by Kirkman & Samnee

Fire Power vol 1 had lots of humor infused in this story line. You'll find action and adventure as well as fighting martial arts. I liked his mentor. Graphics are good.

Santa Claus Surprise by Tonya Kappes

Santa Claus Surprise is a coy murder mystery that is also entertaining. The cast of charaqcters are delightful to get to know. I do enjoy listening to cozy mysteries. Enjoy

The Great Hippopotamus Hotel by Alexander McCall Smith

The Great Hippotamus Hotel is part of the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency. This is such a great series. Makes me want to visit Botswana. This series is well written and very clever. A smart read and well worth listening to the audio books as it is music to the ears. Enjoy.

Spy School Goes Wild by Stuart Gibbs

Spy School Goes Wild is a filled with humor and silliness but also learning some location information. Ben's team is there to support him later on. This future spy is one lucky lad. Good book to add to school libraries.

The Body in the Bookstore by Ellie Alexander

The Body in the Bookstore is a cozy murder mystery. Books and murder mysteries, my favorite genres. I'm on vacation so I'm catching up on my murder mysteries. This is an entertaining one to enjoy.

Knight Owl and Early Bird by Christopher Denise

Knight Owl and Early Bird book 2 is a picture book that is fine for any children's library. Two different personalities work it out. They want to be friends but one is a morning bird and the other is a night owl. Sleep and work schedules clash. A good book.

The Princess and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich by Deya Muniz

The Princess and The Grilled Cheese Sandwich is loaded with lots of cheesy jokes in the story line. Literally cheesy. The young woman in diguise ends up falling in love with the princess. The princess discovers her secret and that changes everything. Fine for high school libraries.

Anya is an adorable girl who cheats on her tests and loves her dog and parents. She can read minds and wants to help her "family" out. Fine for high school. I do like this series.

Three Cups of Deceit: How Greg Mortenson, Humanitarian Hero, Lost His Way by Jon Krakauer

Journalist Jon Krakauer did his research and fact checking on what really happened in the building of schools and the irresponsibility of resources wrapped in a web of lies. If you read Three Cups of Tea, this is the book to follow up on.

War Bob Woodward

War is a book that should be part of history classes as a requirment. Woodward is a credible journalist who knows how to report the facts in a fair and unbiased way. He brings history to life. An important read.

Something Lost, Something Gained: Reflections on Life, Love, and Liberty by Hillary Rodham Clinton

Something Lost, Something Gained is a good read and a good audibook. Written and published before the 2024 presidential election, shows a lot of insight in to the world of politics. Hillary Rodham Clinton has worked to help people around the world as well as the United States. I wish more people had read this book before they voted. Just saying.

Into the Uncut Grass by Trevor Noah

Into the Uncut Grass reminds me of Calvin and Hobbs and Winnie the Pooh. Lovely pictures for this illustrated books.

Living the Confidence Code: Real Girls. Real Stories. Real Confidence. by Katty Kay , Claire Shipman , JillEllyn Riley

Living the Confidence Code is an excellent book to add to middle and high school libraries. A good inspirational book to add to book clubs. A good read.

This is a fine book to add to elementary and middle school libraries. A silly story that works, enjoy.

Leroy Ninker Saddles Up by Kate DiCamillo , Chris Van Dusen (Illustrator)

I love Kate Dicamillo stories and I love animals. It's a silly story. I didn't love this story because Leroy didn't plan and prepare for a horse in his life. He didn't do his research. You could use this story as a teaching moment and ask readers wht should Leroy have done to prepare for an animal before he got one.

Odder by Katherine Applegate , Charles Santoso (Illustrator)

Otters almost became extinct because of over hunting for their furs off the California coast. I appreciate that these otters were telling their story of tehir experiences as rescue otters. A good book to add to elementary and middles school libraries.

Fear the Flames by Olivia Rose Darling

Fear the Flames is a very adult and for mature readers due to lots of sexy scenes. Basically a very sexy romance fantasy for adults. Definitely not YA or school library materials.

Spectacular by Stephanie Garber

Spectacular is part of the Caraval series. I love this series. Legend is sthe love interest of Donatella. He's always u for magical adventures. Add this series to your reading list.

Lunar New Year Love Story by Gene Luen Yang , LeUyen Pham (Illustrations)

Lunar New Year Love Story is a great book to add to high school libraries. A graphic novel about two boys who really like Valentina. They are cousins who also have their own problems. Valentina loves Valentine's Day until she finds out her father's secret. Her grandmother sets her straight and then more secrets come out. A good book to add to for teens to read.

What It Takes to Save a Life: A Veterinarian's Quest for Healing and Hope by Kwane Stewart

What It Takes To Save A Life is a great book to read. It's good to know that there are people helping others in difficult situations. Kwame brings insight into the world of the homelessness. A very good book to read or listen to.

All It Takes Is a Goal: The 3-Step Plan to Ditch Regret and Tap Into Your Massive Potential by Jon Acuff

All It Takes Is A Goal is a great book to read and listen to. I would like to go back and reread the book. I like how elements were explained, with personal stories. The score sheet was a good idea to track events. A good read.

The Librarian of Crooked Lane by C.J. Archer

The Librarian of Crooked Lane is a fantastic story. Magic, Romance and potential mystery plus more. A good read and could easily be a YA book. This book is my new favorite fantasy book. Fine for high school libraries.

Naruto, Vol. 1: Uzumaki Naruto Masashi Kishimoto

I won't be adding this graphic novel to my school library. There are two pages where Naruto turns himself into a naked lady to distract his foe. So I'll pass on this one.

Do Not Disturb is a thriller murder and mystery. Audibook is good and lots of twists and turns. The action starts with the first sentence and keeps moving till the end. Told in multiple voices, the reader learns the backstory of each character. Will the body count grow at this run down hotel with a deadly secret? Read and find out.

One Piece, Volume 1: Romance Dawn by Eiichiro Oda

One Piece is an graphic novel that is adventures and is fine for high school libraries. I'm thinking I'll add this one to my collection.

Spy School Goes North by Stuart Gibbs

Spy School Goes North is a humorous book that will entertain. A light hearted spy story for middle school students is a great series. Ben is a character that is fun to get to know. Enjoy.

Take Me With You When You Go by David Levithan , Jennifer Niven

Take Me With You When You Go is a story that follows the two siblings and the people around them. The brother has to deal with the two parents and it becomes too much. A poinant story.

The Algebra of Wealth: A Simple Formula for Financial Security by Scott Galloway

The Algebra of Wealth is a book filled with authentic advice. It's clera the author has knowledge and experience in matters of finance. A good book to check out.

Komi Can’t Communicate, Vol. 1 by Tomohito Oda

Komi Can't Communicate is a like able story line. I think some people can relate to not being able to speak aloud and can relate to Komi. Tadano is a helpful friend who makes a good difference in her life. This is a sweet and funny story. Drawings are fine for school libraries.

SPY×FAMILY 3 by Tatsuya Endo

Spy Family 3 is fine for school. The drawings are not a problem. Storyline is fine. The little girl is adorable. The famke man is trying to fit the role of being a family while on mission. It's a cute story line.

A Man and His Cat, Vol. 1 by Umi Sakurai

A Man and His Cat book 1 has a very special cat who gives the lonely man joy. It's fine for high school. The story line gives empathy to the mand and his cat. Also a bit of a mystery to what happened to the man's family.

These Witches Don't Burn by Isabel Sterling

. These Witches Don't Burn is an okay book and fine for school libraries. I'm not wild about the writing style but it's okay.

My Hero Academia, Vol. 1 by Kohei Horikoshi , Caleb D. Cook

I liked this book, My Hero Academia book 1. I would get it for my school library. The story line is fine with the theme that a regular person can be a hero. The graphics are appropriate. The relation ship of friends and enemies is a good story line.

The Village Library Demon-Hunting Society, was a story that I liked listening to. She has a cat that turns out to be possed by a ghost that helps her fight the demon. She has friends who also help her. Sherry Pinkwhistle isn't perfect and has her own personal demons while fighting an actual demon. I thought this was an entertaining spoof on cozy murder mysteires

ADHD is Awesome: A Guide to (Mostly) Thriving with ADHD by Penn Holderness , Kim Holderness

ADHD is Awesome is an awesome book. THe audiobook also awesome. I picked this book because I enjoy this talented couple's creative videos on Intstagram. I also picked the book to better understand my students. I'm sure I have some with ADHD and it was very helpful to understand ADHD from the viewpoint of one who has it and one who is partnered with one. A good read.

SPY×FAMILY 1 by Tatsuya Endo

Spy Family #1 is fine for high school libraries. The story premis is fine and entertaining. The good news is that the clothing is fine. Not to sexy. I like the first book and plan to follow the series. I'm always looking for anime that is fine for high school students. Sometimes characters are not dressed appropriately for school libraries. So far so good for this one.
