Mom has one last job before she goes straight, steal a ruby necklace and switch it for a fake. Kat, the teen, sneaks on in the job. She witnesses a murder. Meets up with her one day step dad and her step brother and danger is all around in a rich family's compound. What the heck is going on? You will need to read to find out. A good read. Fine for high school library and the audiobook also very good.
