The Little Liar by Mitch Albom
The Little Liar by Mitch Albom starts off in Greece, during the Holocaust. Two young brothers and a girl that is friends with them are caught up in the Holocaust. One brother hid during the round up of Jews in Greece and accidentally told lies to those going on to the train to take them away to the death camps. Finding out the truth, spurs him to save his family and starts his journey, learning multiple languages. The older brother, works in the camp trying to save his father and grandfather. A German Nazi also starts in Greece and ends up as the director of the death camp. The story continues as the characters weave their stories together as time continues.
The audiobook also very good. An excellent read.
