As a teacher-librarian, I have the opportunity to read young adult books to share with my students. The list that I have provided will have an overview of the book and personal comments. They are on a Book-mercial style image to get a taste of the essence of the book.

Marshmallow Hollow Jingle All The Slay by Dakota Cassidy
Aaron Tucker Mystery As Dog Is My Witness by Jeffrey Cohen
A cozy mystery with snappy banter and an engaging plot makes this a good read. The bonus part is including a character with Autism is a smart move. It's a good mystery to enjoy.

The Forest of Stolen Girls by June Hur
This may not be for mainstream teen readers. It has a slow and steady pace with lots of flashbacks. Go back to a different time in Korea. Girls are disappearing, and no one knows what is going on. A masked man threatens those who venture in to the forest. Two sisters experience something that happened when they were very young. A good read but for I would say for serious readers.
Castle Glower Saturdays At Sea by Jessica Day George
A fun series to read. Young readers will enjoy this fantasy adventure. Add this series to your library shelves.
Girl Out Of Water by Laura Silverman
Show Me A Sign by Ann Clare LeZotte
There was a deaf community thriving in the Martha's Vineyard area for quite a while. This story was written by a librarian who is also deaf. A good read, to see the world of the non-hearing. Add this one for your middle school library.
Melanie Travis Death of A Dog Whisperer by Laurien Berenson
This cozy murder story had me at dog. A good series that I am starting. If you enjoy cozy murder mysteries, add this one to your reading list.

Miep and the Most Famous Diary by Pincus & Solano
This true story of the saving of the Diary of Anne Frank, told in the eyes of the woman who was hiding the 8 people. Miep is the hero in this story. A good woman who chose to do the right thing. Add this picture book to your school library.
Flying Paintings by Alznauer, Zhou & Zhou
A very dynamic book to add to library shelves. History and Art blended together to tell the brothers' stories. A good book to use in world history when talking about China, when they changed to a very strict communism.

Pax: The Journey Home by Sara Pennypacker
This Very Tree by Sean Rubin
This gentle book is an excellent book to add to any library no matter what grade. The focus is on the survival of the book. 20 years later this tree has lived on. A good book to add.
The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Schrefer
I thought this would be for Young Adult readers but I would say it would be more for adult. Sort of reminds me of Space 2001 with the computer HAL add with some other science fiction films. There's a mystery going on and when the two find the answer, they have to work together to survive.
Curses by Lish McBride
A good read for high school teens who enjoy grown up fairy tales. Basically a retelling of Beauty and the Beast with some extra fairy tale characters from other books are included in the story. A good read and a fun read. Fine for any high school library.
Linked by Gordon Korman
Excellent book to add to middle school. A good read and audio book. An angry boy creates havoc and pain. It's a good read to bring community together.
A Fiancée's Guide to First Wives of Murder by Dianne Freeman
I enjoy a good murder mystery and this is a series I have been enjoying. The audio books are good and I love the fusion of humor and a hint of romance and the investigating of a murder. A good cozy mystery.
The Floating Field by Scott Riley
Add this picture book to your middle school library. It's based on a true story of a group of boys who have a passion of to play soccer but live on a small island with no ground to play on. They end up building their own field on the water. Read this story and be inspired.
Within These Lines by Stephanie Morrill
Overall I liked this book and it is fine for high school libraries. It would have been nice if there were more Evalinas in the world, especially during this time. But this character can be an inspiration because we still need more Evalinas. Two teens in love, from different cultures hide their love as they are pulled apart when Japan bombs Pearl Harbor. Facing racial bullying and even with in one's own culture, it's a good read. Fine to add to any high school library.
The Revenge of Magic The Last Dragon by James Riley
I'm finished book 2 in the series. So far, so good. It's fine for middle school libraries. Lots of action and mystery, relationship building for trust. A good book to add to young middle school reading shelves. Good audio book also.
Across the Airless Wilds by Earl Swift
This is an informational book that covers the moon exploration and the devices the astronauts used to get to the moon. I enjoyed reading about the rover trips as they were designed and fixed and used to scoot around the moon. It's a good read or listen to (audio book), probably not for everyone, but if you know someone who is in to space exploration and the moon, this book would be great for them.
