As a teacher-librarian, I have the opportunity to read young adult books to share with my students. The list that I have provided will have an overview of the book and personal comments. They are on a Book-mercial style image to get a taste of the essence of the book.

The Blue Castle by L. M. Montgomery
This is an endearing story of an oppressed girl that her family took advantage of. After 29 years of misery, she breaks free. Keep in mind the story was published in 1926. A whole different world. I like how she found herself. There's a happy ending. A little to wrapped up but the story is charming. Enjoy. Audio book also very good.
