As a teacher-librarian, I have the opportunity to read young adult books to share with my students. The list that I have provided will have an overview of the book and personal comments. They are on a Book-mercial style image to get a taste of the essence of the book.

Hey Kiddo by Jarrett J Krosoczka
This is a brilliant graphic novel about his life story. Told in a moving way. However there is a lot of for mature reader moments. His mom did drugs and was an addict. His grandparents loved him but they could be real characters. There is some drinking and smoking as well. I am interested in getting this for my library. I would say read before you get for your library but remember we have lots o students who are being raised by grand parents and there are not that many books about this situation for teens. It's a good read. Also a very good TedTalk https://www.ted.com/talks/jarrett_j_krosoczka_how_a_boy_became_an_artist?language=en#t-561626
