As I was reading this story, it reminded me years ago when one of my friends in middle school had a brace. I really had no clue what she went through. I do know it looked uncomfortable. I think this book should be on shelves for students to either not feel like they are the only ones with braces or if they have friends who have a back brace to understand better what it is like to wear a brace and the emotions that go with it.
