We Are Okay by Nina Lacour

I liked this book.  It's introspective and about relationships.  Marin lived in the San Francisco area with her grandfather.  Her mother died when she was very young.  Later she finds out her grandfather was not as mentally or emotionally stable as she had thought.  When he passes, she finds a room in his house that he had protected.  Hurt and angry, questions with no answers, she goes to NYC to school.  She leaves behind friends and a girl she loved very much.  There is some mature scenes and so maybe not for high school unless you read and decide for yourself.
