It's a good solid story but there is a lot of violence which explains the actions of various people. Deep in feelings as the war takes place. Even though there is a magic, the war and battle scenes are similar to real life warfare of past real wars. It's a good book but not for everyone. It's a good soldier book. It would be fine for any high school library. It's a solid read.
