It's a long read and not for public high school. I say that because it's really complicated and I feel many high school students would be lost. Having said that, it's an excellent book for serious readers. I just came back from Germany and Austria and was delighted to read about places referenced in which I have visited. I love the concept of an alien and a medieval priest having conversations and both entities learning about abstract conversations about space travel and God. It's an excellent read, I would say if you love science fiction, Star Trek and European history, this is the book for you!
