I'm now a fan of Jordan Sonneblick! You don't even need to read the first book. But now I want to read book 1. This award winning book will tug your heart strings. Think Fault within the Stars. Solid book and the dialogue is funny. Serious good book. A must for any library. Also insight on what stress a family with children with cancer might go through. It's a good read.
