The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black

A modern tale set in America, the Fae live all over.  The townsfolk know how to the social rules to live near the Fae.  But that all changes and danger is taking place.  Hazel and her friends must save the day.  I would I put this in the library?  It's okay for personal and public libraries. Not sure about high school libraries. 

Ready Player One Armada by Ernest Cline

I'm so getting this for my library.  It's good.  I'm in line for book 1 but this was available so I was able to hear the audiobook while still waiting for the first one.  It's a good read.  If you like Ender's Game, War Games and The Last Starfighter, this is for you to enjoy.

A Dog’s Way Home by W. Bruce Cameron

If you love dogs then you'll love this one.  Remember the Incredible Journey.  Think one dog trekking thorough the wilderness.  This story is told in the perspective of Bella.  Grow up with her as she experiences life, people and nature.  She has the kindest heart ever.  When I got home after I finished this story, I had to hug my two dogs.  My next dog will be named Bella if a female and Enzo if a boy.  Read The Art of Racing in the Rain.  Enjoy.  Audiobook also very good.

Bridget Jones Mad About the Boy by Helen Fielding

Think a modern Jane Austen situation and you've got a entertaining story.  It's an adult book, lots of mature themes.  Perfect for personal and public libraries.  I will have to go back and read the first two.  Did see the movies and loved them.  But we all know the book is always better.  Audiobook also great.  Enjoy.

Sisterhood Sisterhood everlasting by Ann Brashares

This is a great series and more an adult book.  I'd say some mature content and dealing with grief.  would I put it in a high school library?  Probably not but I would say better for personal libraries and public libraries.  The audio book is great.  It's nice to see the girls as women.  I think their ages are in their 30s and they behave at that age.  Enjoy.

Stoneheart by Charlie Fletcher

Adventure and a chase by live statues makes this a welcome edition to any elementary and middle school library.  It's a good read.  Enjoy.

Beau Rivage Kill me softly by sarah cross

This is a mash up of all sorts of dangerous fairy tales, including Blue Beard.  It's pretty interesting.  Perfect for public libraries.  I'm not sure how it will fit in high school libraries.  Enjoy.

Say what You Will by Cammie McGovern

This is a good book to read.  It's right up there with Fault in Our Stars, John Green, Sarah Dessen and other great contemporary stories about teens.  I'm getting this for my library.  Heads up, there is some teen drinking in the story.  Good Story.

My True Love Gave To Me edited by Stephanie Perkins

Perfect for public and private libraries.  The diversity is refreshing.  Enjoy.

My Life with the Walter Boys by Ali Novak

A contemporary story.  It's fine for high school.

March: Book 2 by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin & Nate Powell

I'm getting this for my library.  History should always be reviewed so that we can learn and make a positive difference.  I think this series would be perfect to be added to the White House library.  Maybe the librarian at the White House will share this with the presidents who serve this country as a reminder that all people have rights and not focused on a few elite.  It's a good way to broaden one's view of what people suffered and sacrificed to make a positive and important difference.

Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst

I'm going to say that this would be better in public and private libraries.  There is some mature content as the two girls discover that they love each other.  The plot is not as strong as it could be.  It's fine but there are some forced parts to the story.

Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor

Think Harry Potter goes to Africa and instead of Harry, it's Sunny who's family has moved back to Africa.  This is perfect for high school library.  It's a good read.  Enjoy.

Runaways by Christopher Golden

I really didn't like this book.  There's a some things to consider.  The teens are trying to kill their parents who are villains.  The story is not the best story.  I would pass on this one.

The Forgotten Books by Mecthild Glaser

I liked this book, thing Pride and Prejudice with a magical contemporary twist.  Fine for any high school library.  Romance and adventure to enjoy a good read.

Seven Black Diamonds: One Blood Ruby by Melissa Marr

Interesting story and fine for high school.  Edgy contemporary teen faes with the weight of the world on them. 

The Purloining of Prince Oleomargarine by Mark Twain & Philip Stead

This is one very funny book.  I also think that it would be a good gift to the leaders who are magically elected to office should read.  Fine for any library.

March by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin & Nate Powell

One of the best graphic novels, I have read in a long time.  Perfect for any high school library.  History brought to life in a way that comes alive in a well crafted graphic novel.  The drama and action of the illustrations capture a time that started a change in the US.  A must for any school library.
