Soldier For Equality by Duncan Tonatiuh

I bought this for my high school library.  This is the second title I have gotten from Duncan Tonatiuh.  I love his style of illustrations.  Refreshing and yet connects to the art of ancient MesoAmerica.  I also appreciate the connection of bringing real people who made a difference in the world to life.  Add this book to your school library.  It's a good one.

The Merciful Crow by Margaret Owen

Not my favorite.  I felt the plot was a bit confusing.  I'm going to skip this one.

Hair Love by Cherry & Harrison

This is a very cute book and good for any but who will be a father and will be doing little girl's hair.
It's a sweet story. Very special.  I don't want to give it away.  Fine for any ones' library. 

Bronx Masquerade by Nikki Grimes

I've had this book in my high school library for years.  Been wanting to read it.  Found the audio book.  It's a good read with teens and their problems.  Back stories coupled with free verse, poetry and rap.  It's a good read and fine for any high school library.  If Nikki Grimes ever came to Fresno, I would love to take her out to dinner and hear her story.

Truly Devious The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson

I love this series.  I'm getting it for my high school.  It's a bunch of teens who are solving a mulit-million dollar mystery.  Who can they trust?  Read and find out.  Audio book also very good.  Add this one to your high school library.  Enjoy.

Song of the Crimson Flower by Julie C. Dao

I'm at home and listen to the audio book of this story.  My school is closed due to the Corvirus.  This book fits right in to all the events that take place.  Go to a time in an Asian type land when things were much more simpler.  There's a girl a guy and a love story under the umbrella of a plague hitting their world.  It's a good read.  I'm getting the book through J L Guild.  I was able to listen to the audio book.  This is a good one.  Add it to your shelves. 

The Wizenard Series Training Camp by Bryant & King

Think Harry Potter meets the basketball courts.  A group of boys become united in shared magical experiences, face fears and life lessons to make them a stronger team.  This is all done with the magic of one wizard coach.  It's a good read and can be a welcome addition to any school or personal library.  The audio book also very good.  Enjoy.

Belle Revolie by Linsey Miller

An interesting story.  Lots of layers in the story.  I don't think I'll get for my library.  It's a good fantasy but I think some of my teen readers may get lost in the story.  Good for personal and public libraries.

Two Can Keep A Secret by Karen M. McManus

Karen M. McManus can write a thriller for teens.  I'm getting this one for my high school library.  It's a good read.  I couldn't figure out who did it and why.  It's a good audio book and a good read.  Enjoy.

A good book to add about endangered animals.  An important read to start with young people on up.  Enjoy

Chet and Bernie Mystery Dog On It by Spencer Quinn

Chet narrates the murder mystery in his own special doggy way.  Chet is pretty funny.  Good mystery and lots of action.  I think it's pretty cool that the story is told in the dog's voice.  Great story.  Enjoy.  Audio book also good.

The Beast Player by Nahoko Uehashi

It's a magical journey in which a young girl grows up to be a young woman who can reach out to dangerous but yet very special creatures.  It's a great read.  I would love to get for my high school library.  Audio book also very good.  Enjoy.

Stronger Than A Bronze Dragon by Mary Fan

I would buy this book for my school library.  A great fantasy book with an Asian influence.  I look forward to reading more books by Mary Fan.  Part romance, part adventure and part mystery all wrapped under magic and fantasy makes this a solid story.  The audio book also very good.  Enjoy.

Prairie Lotus by Linda Sue Park

It's a good read for middle school and upper elementary school.  For those who enjoy Little House on the Prairie series, add this to young people's reading pleasure. 

Sweetshop of Dreams by Jenny Colgan

I enjoy Jenny Colgan books.  Maybe a bit formulaic but it's like a good old friend.  This book is sweet.  Hahaha, no pun intended.  You'll like the central characters and Rosie is the friend you want because of her heart of gold.  Enjoy.  Also audio book good.

All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

Wow.  If you enjoy history stories especially Europe during WWII, add this to your read list.  The audio book also very good.  Imagine having no sight and your country is invaded by cruel German Nazi people.  It's an intense read.

Little Britches Father And I Were Ranchers by Ralph Moody

I loved this story and it's based on the childhood of Ralph Moody.  It's like Little House on the Prairie  for boys and those who love the ranching life.  It would be fine for any school library.  I don't know if it would appeal to a mass audience but it's a good read. And the audio book also very good. 

House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A Craig

It's a dark fantasy fairy tale.  I would add to my high school library.  There's a magic deal and betrayal.  Who in the family has created a dangerous situation?  It's a good read.  Also audio book a well as good.

Opposite of Always by Justin A Reynolds

Think the classic Bill Murphy: Ground Hog Day and apply it to a teen's world and you have a great book.  it's a good read.  Fine to add to any high school library.  The audio book also very good.  Enjoy.

The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise by Dan Gemeinhart

An excellent book, worth putting in your library.  Coyote Sunrise got to pick and change her name after a tragic accident claimed the lives of her mother and her two sisters.  Her father grieves by going as far away as possible to get rid of all the reminders.  Coyote is wise beyond her years.  Her voice and thoughts are delightful.  The writing of this story is brilliant and bright.  The audio book also very good.  Truly enjoy.

This would make a good gift for all sorts of inspirational events.  It's a sweet read.  Enjoy.

Prom by Laurie Halse Anderson

This is one spunky book.  Ashley is an edgy jaded girl who tends to get into trouble.  There is a sweet Russian grandmother who can sew and loves to swim.  And then there is her dad who is taking forever to remodel their house while her very pregnant mom keeps looking for dresses for her.  it is pretty darn funny.  Audio book also good.  Enjoy.

I'm getting this for my high school.  It's a good thriller.

I liked this book. Lots of talking in this one.  I think before you should read this/or listen to this book before you put it in your library.

I can make this Promise by Christine Day

It's a good read and tells about what happened in real life as native american babies where stolen from their families under cruel circumstances.  Thankfully laws have changed.  It's a very sweet story and Edie has a great family, getting braces and deciding if a certain friend truly is a friend.  It's a good read and the audio book also very good.  Enjoy.  A must for any school library.

Mananaland by Pam Munoz Ryan

It's a beautiful story with lots of layers to it.  Many reflect what is going on today in our world.  I highly recommend this for any library.  Enjoy.  Audio book also very good.

101 Ways To Go Zero Waste by Kathryn Kellogg

This is a great book filled with ways to make the world a better place and even save some money.
There are a lot of doable ideas to follow through with.  And lots of educational eye-opening facts.
It's a good read.  I'm going to get for my high school library as well.

The Silence Between Us by Alison Gervais

I find this a very realistic story.  Alison Gervais created an authentic story.  It's a good one to add to the library for students to understand those with hearing loss and how it can be different to function in world.  It's an honest story.  I'm very glad she wrote this story.  She nailed it.  Add this one to your library.

A Heart in A Body In The World by Deb Caletti

I am getting this book for my high school library.  A bad relationship leads to a shooting of two close friends.  Annabella faces guilt of knowing and talking to the shooter.  She works out her guilt by running across the country and gaining followers of her story along the way.  It's a good and important read.

A Lady’s Guide to Etiquette and Murder by Dianne Freeman

Sometimes, I just need a break from YA and this was a fun read/listen to.  If you enjoy Jane Austen and Downton Abbey plus a bit of mayhem, then this is the book to check out.  Enjoy.  I am looking forward to enjoying more Dianne Freeman. 

Banned This Book by Alan Gratz

This charming book will be a welcome addition to any elementary school library.  It's a good read and a smart read as well.  Okay book by Alan Gratz is brilliant for young and teen readers.  You will fall in love with the charm of this sweet little girl who only wants to be left alone and read.  She learns to speak out while her family also learns a few lessons.  It's a good read.

Bring Me Their Hearts Find Me Their Bones by Sara Wolf

This is a great read for high school teens who enjoy fantasy.  The snappy conversations and unrequited love makes this an entertaining book.  It's a good read and also a good audio book. Enjoy.

Patron Saints of Nothing by Randy Ribay

An intense story as Jay, a teen goes back to his father's country to find out what happened to his cousin.  I would get for my high school library.

Like a Love Story by Abdi Nazemian

Flash back to 1989.  AIDS is a disease that is barely talked about as people are dying from it.  Reza comes into the world and knows he's attracted to boys.  The girl he is dating is attracted to him and her best friend who is also gay.  It's a good read.  I would say read it before you decide putting this in your library.

Astronauts by Ottaviani and Wicks

I'm getting this one for my high school. Well done and even has it's works cited pages at back.  It's a good read for a graphic novel blending history, women's rights and people of color as well.  Go travel with these special and amazing people as they journey through space.  It's a good read.

Just Another Girl by Elizabeth Eulberg

At first I thought this would be a vapid type of book.  I was so wrong.  Once I got over the beginning, I wanted to know Parker's story also.  This is perfect to add to any high school library.  It shows empathy at it's finest.  Parker pretty much must take care of herself, which can be pretty challenging as a teenager.  It's a good read.

Written in the Stars by Aisha Saeed

This book is amazing.  The story gave me a stomachache because I was emotionally invested in it.  A must read and add to any high school library.  Audio book also very good.  Add this one to your library.

Circle of Shadows Cloak of Night by Evelyn Skye

It's a great story.  I have the first one and will get the second one.  It's a good read.  Audio book also very good.  Enjoy.
