So well written.  Need a hanky just in case.  Told by different perspectives, teachers and students.  A good read.

The Nature Fix by Florence Williams

I love this book.  The audio book is fantastic.  I have a house in the woods and I enjoy meditating and watching birds and butterflies and being a part of the forest.  With students and adults on screen time, it's just time to go to a park or somewhere in nature and be a part of nature.  Enjoy.

Gold Rush Girl by Avi

It's an adventure story, infused with history and a strong female character.  It's fine for any children's library and well written.  I did feel it was a bit over the top, but it's fine.

Brave as a Mouse by Nicolo Carozzi

I liked and didn't like this book.  To be fair, it is fine to put in a children's library.  I found the story charming and the illustrations beautiful.  When we have stories that have everyone works together and no one is the hero but all become the hero. And becoming friends even if you are not the same.

What I didn't like was the mice created a problem that has been going on for years.  Placing goldfish, which are an invasive species into a lake or pond.  (Click the hyperlink for article) You are probably thinking, but it's just a story.  Yes but I wouldn't want to give children or adults the idea that it is okay to put goldfish in lakes and ponds.

Leaphorn & Chee Spider Woman’s Daughter by Anne Hillerman

A murder mystery that is not cozy.  What I appreciate about this series is that you learn about the culture of a whole different world than mine.  A good read.  It's smart and descriptive and really a great series of stories with a mystery. The characters are real and authentic.  A good read and a good audio book.

Do you do what is right or do you do what everyone wants you to do?  Turner keeps getting into trouble even though he really hasn't done anything.  His father is working on trying to fit in the community but learns later on a lot of from his son.

This story is partially factual but mashed in with fiction.  Gary D. Schmidt is a true story teller and assembles the words in a powerful way.  An excellent read.  Add this one to your school library.

This is a page turner, with great intensity.  Set in France, mostly in Paris, occupied by the Nazis as they loot and move artwork and barge into people's worlds, there are people who are forced to work with the Nazis. There are others who take advantage of the new system.  It's a battlefield of doing what ever you can to save your country.  What would you sacrifice to defeat the enemy?

I liked it.  If you have students who like super hero stories, add this one to your school library.  A strong intelligent young woman who investigates on her own a mystery.  Good read.

The Dark Tide by Alicia Jainska

This fantasy felt rather muddled.  I am going to pass on purchasing this one for my high school library.  I really wanted the plot to work and there are some areas that do but overall it was a bit confusing.

I loved this book.  It reminded me when I taught English as a Second Language.  Especially when the students were playing baseball and Shirley hears Run Home and she starts to end back to her apartment. Something similar happened when I was covering PE.  It's a coming of age story that is endearing.  Enjoy.

It's a good series and fine for high school.  Lots of drama and love interest to keep the story moving along.

A Life Without Water by Marci Bolden

This book is amazing!  Emotions that are raw and tender, pain and numbness.  Two adults who's lives separate when their young daughter dies.  Told between flashbacks and current time, this book is a page turner.  Also the audio book is well done.  A touching book as you feel the pain of these two people work out their grief.  A good read.

This is a very good book.  Kristin Hannah can write a good story.  Put this one on your reading list.  An compelling read, and you won't be able to put it down.
