Drawn together by Minh Le and Dan Santat

This book is magic.  It reminded me of me when my Grandmother came from Germany to visit us kids in California. We didn't speak a common language, so it was kind of uncomfortable.  But Omi (grandmother) spoke with food and cooking.

This story has two different generations who have different languages and different food.  And then they find that art brings them together.  Almost wordless, this book will speak volumes.

Her relationship with the house that is actually alive makes it very precious.  A good read.  Would make a good animation feature film.
