As a teacher-librarian, I have the opportunity to read young adult books to share with my students. The list that I have provided will have an overview of the book and personal comments. They are on a Book-mercial style image to get a taste of the essence of the book.

The Vanderbeekers and the Hidden Garden by Karina Yan Glaser
Rage by Bob Woodward
I listened to the audio book and have seen lots of interviews with Bob Woodward on the news. I am going to suggest reading this with an open mind before you vote in November. It's an important read.

The Other Bennet Sister by Janice Hadlow
Someday We Will Fly by Rachel DeWoskin
Add this one to your library. There are some mature episodes but it's handled well. This book/story still haunts me and I read it a few months ago. Imagine fleeing your home with the clothes on your back. Landing in a foreign land with a way different culture. And your mother is probably in a Nazi camp. It's a good read.
A Country Store Mystery Strangled Eggs and Ham by Maddie Day
A good read. Sometimes, I want to change things up from reading YA books and Middle school books. Who doesn't like a good mystery. Enjoy this easy read. Audio book also good.
Cackleberry Club Mystery Stake & Eggs by Laura Childs
I liked this murder mystery. It's fun to figure out what happened and why. The audio book is also good. Enjoy.
A Country Store Mystery Death Over Easy by Maddie Day

Professional Book Nerds Author Series Nancy Pearl
A delightful interview of two book nerds and author Nancy Pearl. A great series. Enjoy a good listening. It's short but great listen.
Preaching to the Chickens by Jabari Asim / Illustrated by E. B. Lewis
Add this one to your school library. Enjoy this charming true story about John Lewis and his family chickens. A sweet story that is refreshing to enjoy.
A Farm To Fork Mystery Killer Green Tomatoes by Lynn Cahoon
It's a good read. Sometimes you just need a mystery to solve. Lynn Cahoon is a good read and a good listen to. Enjoy.
Pudd’nhead Wilson by Mark Twain
The book reflects the cruel times of the mistreatment of slavery. What would you do to give your child a chance to have a better life? It is a good story. It is also a murder mystery. It's smart.

Get Well Soon by Jennifer Wright
History may repeat itself and does. Go back in time hundreds of years and travel up to 2017 as pandemics and dangerous viruses have made a big impact in the world. Audio book also very good.
The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin
This is a sweet and bittersweet story. There is the opportunity for a second chance in love when A. J. thought that there would be none. His hard heart is opened up when he adopts an abandoned child in his book shop. It turns out he also finds out he has friends when he thought he had none. The audio book very good in this very touching story.

Restart by Gordon Korman book talk video clip
Hello Everyone, This is actually a test to do book talks for my students. I am a high school teacher librarian. Because of COVID19, my school site os closed to students so I am learning more technology to make book talks for my students. Yep, I'm still figuring out technology and learning (forgetting) and then relearning how to use all this new technology. So maybe not much razzle dazzle on this blog but I'll get there. It sure is different with out actual students in front of me, because I like to walk around and make the book talk interactive.
