Be Not Far From Me By Mindy McGinnis

Take Tom Hank's Castaway and apply it to the woods in the mountains and you have one intense story.  This is a good read. What would you do if you were alone and lost in the woods.  The audio book also good.

Why We Swim by Bonnie Tsui

If you are a swimmer, or know one, this is a book for you.  The audio book is also good.  Enjoy.

Hello Neighbor Bad Blood by Carly Anne West

This is a great horror story for older elementary and middle school students.  I do recommend this book, I think the series will appeal to students.  There is enough tension in the story to make it a mystery.  Enjoy.

The Last Musketeer Traitor’s Chase by Stuart Gibbs

Stuart Gibbs knows how to tell a story and make it really interesting and a page turner.  It's a good read and perfect for middle school as well as upper elementary grades.  The audio book also good.

This is a fun book to enjoy.  The picture are sweet and the words are simple and easy for little ones to read.  Enjoy.

Talking to Strangers by Malcolm Gladwell

This a study of how people who don't know each other communicate and of miscommunication.  Case studies are shared, methods of study and perspectives explained.  The audio book is also very good.  One thing that I wished that the author included was with people who are autistic and how they are perceived by strangers.  Over all it's a good book.  I like the audio book.  Very informative.

Tales from Alcatraz Al Capone Throws Me A Curve by Gennifer Choldenko

Great series, based on when families lived on Alcatraz Island separate from the Prison part of the island.  It's a good read and a good audio book.  Add this to your middle school library.

Funjungle Tyrannosaurus Wrecks by Stuart Gibbs

Stuart Gibbs can write a great middle school book that entertains and informs. It's a great series and perfect for middle school libraries and upper elementary libraries.  It's a good read, and a great audio book.  Enjoy.

If You Were The Moon by Salas & Kim

It's fine.  There is a sweet part in the illustrations.  The playful side on page is balanced with science facts on the facing page.

The Aurora Cycle Aurora Burning by Kaufman & Kristoff

Think Star Trek Meets Firefly and sprinkle in Star Wars and you have a pretty cool Space adventure.  I am going to get for my school library.  Good Guys Read also.  I liked the audio book with a cast of voice actors bringing the book alive plus sound affects.

Silent Days, Silent Dreams by Allen Say

Another beautiful book by Allen Say.  Add this on to your collection.  True story of a troubled artist, a boy who was  mute, deaf and autistic in the late 1800 early 1900s.  How do you communicate to a young boy like this?  Or do you?  Left alone, created his own friends by drawing characters and animals.  It's a good read.

Once Upon A Quinceanera by Julia Alvarez

Julia Alavarez did a study on the rite of passage of Hispanic girls turning 15 and how it has evolved over the years and traveled around different countries.  It's a great study and incorporates women of all ages.  The book reads easily and is also reflective of the author's life as well.  It's an important read.  Add this to your reading list.

The Midnight Lie By Marie Rutkoski

I have no idea how to explain this book.  It was a bit muddled.    It's a class society.  I'm passing on this one.  This was almost a DNF (did not finish) but I thought I would plod through anyway.  Was not impressed.  It's marketed for YA but I would say more Adult.

Layoverland by Gabby Noone

JLG sent this as part of my school library subscription.  It's perfect for high school.  I recommend it and will get one more for my patrons.  It's funny,  You end up liking all the characters.  Told in two time frames.  Bea's fight with her sister mixed into what is happening in the world of purgatory.  I would have read it to 5 am but I ended up going to bed, but as soon as I was up, right back to the story.  It's that good.

All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace

An amazing story, true and historic.  There are accompany photos that bring the story to life.  What would you do if your country was taken over by a mad man?  These boys took matters in their own hands and inspired their fellow Danes and even other countries.  It's a good read.  It's an important read.

All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace

Fine for high school.  Sort of like Gracling.  The audio book also good.  There is some violence in the story.

Return to Gone-Away by Elizabeth Enright

It's a sweet dated story of a time long ago.  The people are very nice and kind and they are restoring an old house.  If you are a fan of This Old House or If This House Could Talk or any HGTV show, then this would be fine for you.  It's simply told and dated.  It's fine for any library but my concern would be terms, objects  and history may be over young children's head.  It's akin to the original Box Car Children series.  This would be good for a parent or a teacher to read to children so they can explain or even do research on items such as a button up hook. (shoes used to be button up vs lace up or velcro or slip on).  Again it's sweet but goes back to a way different time.  Still,... enjoy.

The Woman’s Hour By Elaine Weiss

An excellent book telling the story how women had to fight for the right to vote in America.  Targets for rotten tomatoes , jail and racism, this story is well researched.  This is an important read as it parallels what is going in the US for the last four years.  Read and learn.

Great book.  My school has a marketing program.  I am going to order this for my high school library so that my students will have a resource to help them, of course they have a wonderful teacher.  You rock Mr. B!  The audio book also good.  Actually I'm thinking of applying some of the ideas to promoting my high school library and marketing books to get staff and students interested in books in a variety of ways.

Wish by Barbara O'Connor

Dazzle Ships : WWI And The Art of Confusion by Barton and Ngai

WWI had the dangerous situation of German U-boats torpedoing ships.  But one person came up with a plan to repaint the boats with designs to create an optical illusion that even tricked and convinced the King of England to give it a go.  The Illustrations of the book are brilliant and highly sophisticated.  The illustrations give it an art deco style.  I would award this book for it's content and illustrations.  Get this book for any school library.  You'll thank me later.
