The House With Chicken Legs by Sophie Anderson

I loved this story.  Add this one to your middle school library.  The story is told in Markina's eyes.  It's her relationship with her Grandmother Yaba, the house and later a little boy and a ghost.  She meets with dead people and wants to mingle with the living.  She makes some mistakes that she doesn't realize there are reasons that were not revealed to her.  At a certain point she grieves for her loss.

Her relationship with the house that is actually alive makes it very precious.  A good read.  Would make a good animation feature film.

The Mists of Avalon Mistress of Magic by Marion Zimmer Bradley

This book came out when I was in high school.  I remember seeing the book at a friends house and thinking I would like to read it.  It's a thick book so I went with an audio book.  Some mature content.  It's the legend of Arthur but in a different perspective.  More his mother and his sister, Morgana.  It's good, definitely for adults.

Anna Dressed In Blood by Kendare Blake

I'm getting this one for my high school library.  Its a good thriller.  Think Ghosts  Busters at a teen level.  Match that with male version of Buffy the Vampire Killer (only this would be ghosts) I see this as a popular book.  Audio book also good.  Enjoy

Shadow of the Fox Night of the Dragon by Julie Kagawa

I love this series.  I am so getting this for my high school library.  It's a page turner of never ending danger, rich words and a great story.  If I were to have a fantasy dinner party and could invite authors, Julie Kagawa would be on the list.  She can tell a story.  Each book gets better and better.  A big thank you.  Also audio book is great and I would invite the reader also to the dinner party.

Song of the Crimson Flower by Julie C. Dao

I'm at home and listen to the audio book of this story.  My school is closed due to the Corvirus.  This book fits right in to all the events that take place.  Go to a time in an Asian type land when things were much more simpler.  There's a girl a guy and a love story under the umbrella of a plague hitting their world.  It's a good read.  I'm getting the book through J L Guild.  I was able to listen to the audio book.  This is a good one.  Add it to your shelves.

I like how the story incorporates Japanese folklore and blend contemporary teens.  I got this book from Junior Library Guild for my high school and decided to listen to the audio book which is done very well.  It's a good story and I am glad I have it for my school library.  Enjoy.

Rules for Vanishing by Kate Alice Marshall

Think Blair Witch project meets any super scary haunted house movie you have ever seen.  It is a very strange story that leaves you in the dark.  Quite literally, leaves you in the dark.  I am thinking about getting for my high school students who like horror.  Audio book also very good.

Lalani of the Distant Sea by Erin Entrada Kelly

It's alright.  There are some glitches in the story.  I didn't really connect to it but maybe you would.  It's okay to add to a library.
