One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I liked the story line.  Her grief of losing her love, her husband in a tragic accident over the ocean and then finding love with another high school friend.  Her friend has been in love with her since the start of his meeting her.  I thought the story was put together well.  How would you figure out who you were suppose to be with?  Read and find out.  Definitely adult.

A Nissera Novel Palace of Silver by Hannah West

A lot is going on in this book.  I think it's perfect for public libraries.  I don't see my students getting into this series.  It's fine just there's a lot going on.

A Nissera Novel Realm of Ruins by Hannah West

It's fine.  I did get a lost in the different characters and situations and the time travel was a bit of a challenge.  Not sure if my high school teens would get into it.  Perfect for public libraries.

The Woods Are Always Watching by Stephanie Perkins

The two friends think they are ready for this trip but this is their first time hiking/camping.  They ignore all sorts of problems.  One girl fears bears and serial murderers and bears.  Yep those are in the book. What the author forgot was poisonous snakes.  The girls go off trail thinking they are on trail.  They also have a whiney fight.  After the body count starts adding up, the girls find their survival spirit.  Over all, I didn't like the story/plot/characters.  I'm passing on this one.

A nice skinny book on a athlete who plays football.  A good read for those who would rather read skinny books about sports.  Add this one to your high school library.

Grace Banker and Her Hello Girls Answer the Call by Claudia Friddell & Elizabeth Baddeley

This is a surprise historical event that not many people know about.  Well documented based on a great grandmother and lots of primary resources to tell an amazing tale of unsung heroes of World War I.  Decades before cell phones and smart phones, operators ran switchboards to connect parties on the phone.  These young women braved the war front in France to help orders/information get moved from one battle front to another.  I nominated this for CYRM picture book for older readers this next year.

The Nissera Chronicles Kingdom of Ash and Briars by Hannah West

I liked this story.  It has lots of elements that make a story entertaining; danger, romance, mystery, the chase, trying to save the world, good characters and good plot.  I'm adding this one to my shopping list for my high school library.  Enjoy.
