As a teacher-librarian, I have the opportunity to read young adult books to share with my students. The list that I have provided will have an overview of the book and personal comments. They are on a Book-mercial style image to get a taste of the essence of the book.

What Big Teeth by Rose Szabo
I had a hard time trying to finish this book. It was way to strange for me. Not for my high school library. I did finish but it was just a spiral of a story line that curled into itself. The story felt stuck.

Ghosts of the Shadow Market: An Anthology of Tales
Backstories on various characters in a short story version written by multiple authors. It's a good read. On the image are several of the different stories. These are just a sample of what to enjoy.

Kate Grable: Bad Hair Day By Carrie Harris
I like this series. I hope there are more. I am going to buy for my high school library. It's funny and a great murder mystery. Enjoy. The audiobook also good.

Chronicles of Nick: Infinity Sherrilyn Kenyon
Think Vladimer Tod meets zombies and demons. It's a teen who is half human and half demon. Nick is finding himself. I should mention his mother has a heart of gold, and is a stripper. His father is in jail. Nick is the target of a group who is after him. It's fine but I wouldn't buy for a high school library.

Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater
This story is told by two different perspectives. Both characters are edgy and honest. It's a solid story. There is a naked man running around when he returns from wolfhood and also some bare breasts and sex that is implied. It's a good story if you are a fan of the Shiver series. Just want to give you a heads up in library world.

Manners & Mutiny by Gail Carriger
Okay if you like fun steam punk, this is the book for you. Enjoy. I did. Probably not for everyone but it's fun. Written with a "tongue in cheek" style.

Waistcoats & Weaponry by Gail Carriger
Okay it's steampunk. But it's funny and adventurous and refreshing. It's the Victorian age meets Inspector Gadget. It's fine for any library. Probably an acquired taste. It's a fun read. I'm hooked on this series also. Looking forward to the next book.

Prudence: The Custart Protocol by Gail Carriger
This is an entertaining steam punk novel. Would I buy it for the school library? Probably not, because a small select group of readers would get into it. The audio book from the local public library was a fun listen to. It's over the top and outrageous.

Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger
I enjoyed reading this book. Okay, I cheated, I checked out the audio book from my library. It was fun to hear the story in a British Victorian voice. I adored Sophronia and wanted her to be my new best friend. I also wanted to have a mechanical dog and feed it bits of coal as well. It's fun, it's adventures and it's spunky. Just how many petticoats does a young woman need to wear???

City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
This story will take you on a supernatural adventure. There is romance that drives the story of good and evil. Vampires, werewolves, warlocks and shadowhunters work together to save the day.

City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare
I am working my way through the whole series, including the Clockwork series. I enjoy the adventure, action, how the story fluidly moves from character to character as they struggle with their own conflict while facing the major conflict of the story. The stories are always engaging with with romance, mystery and good old fashion demon fighting.
