Instructions for Dancing by Nicola Yoon

Instructions for Dancing by Nicola Yoon I liked this book a lot because Evie grows through out the book. Her parents are divorced, she had caught her father cheating with another woman. Her father is getting married to the other woman and she is upset about it. She finds a book and returns it to the dance studio and ends up taking lessons with the owner's grandson. She also has the ability to see when people kiss their past, present and future. Fine for all high schools.

Lunar New Year Love Story is a great book to add to high school libraries. A graphic novel about two boys who really like Valentina. They are cousins who also have their own problems. Valentina loves Valentine's Day until she finds out her father's secret. Her grandmother sets her straight and then more secrets come out. A good book to add to for teens to read.

Betting on You by Lynn Painter

Betting on You is a nod to When Harry Met Sally. It's an okay story, I wouldn't purchase it for my school but the public library has it so if someone wants to read, there you go.

Better Than The Movies by Lynn Painter

Better Than The Movies is fine for high school libraries. I listened to the audiobook and it was cute. I would get this book because, I have students asking for romance stories. I must say it's a bit predictable. It reminded me of a couple of movies from the 80s and 90s. It's fine and cute. Enjoy.

Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson

Tress of the Emerald Sea is a lovely story. As I was listening to the audiobook, it reminded me of the opposite of The Princess Bride. Turns out the author did share that Princess Bride was a bit of an inspiration for this story. I loved this story. Love, adventure, tea cups, magic and pirates. What more can a read wish for??? This is the book. Perfect for any library. Enjoy.

This Book Won't Burn by Samira Ahmed

This Book Won't Burn By Samira Ahmed is brilliant. It reflects some very sad realities that are going on in America. Book banning, Bullying, attacks on cultures. This should be in every school and public library. The audiobook is also good. You care about the characters from the start as a Muslim family moves for a fresh start after their husband/father abandons them. The school principal is under the control of a wealthy man running for office. What's scary is that this book reflects some harsh realitites of life. When the library books are being question by a marginal community and books are pulled, this becomes the catalyst of revealing the true architects of discrimination. A good read. Highly recommend it. So says a teacher librarian.

This Time It's Real by Ann Liang

At first I thought the main character was rather shallow but she did warm up quickly. I thought the story was alright and fine. I also listed to the audiobook. I ended up liking the story after all. I would read more by Ann Liang in the future. Okay for school libraries.

Song of the Six Realms by Judy I. Lin

I loved this story. I look forward to reading more of Judy I Lin stories. It has magic, romance, and more. The audiobook also good. Perfect for any high school library. Enjoy.

Promchanged by Morgan Matson

Sometimes you just need a light happy story with a cute meet kind of feel to take a break from murder mysteries. Promchanted is that book. The couple go into the magic kingdom castle in Disneyland and find themselves in the actual story of Sleeping Beauty. The audiobook and story line is great. I am going to add this one to my high school library. I predict it'll be popular to read. Enjoy.
