Anchor & Sophia: Strange Fire by Tommy Wallach

This book is fine for high school libraries.  It's similar to Anthem in some ways as technology must be kept hidden.  I listened to the audiobook.  It was also good.  Enjoy.

No 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency: The Limpopo Academy of Private Detection by Alexander McCall Smith

This is such a lovely series.  Written with love for the characters.  Think Sherlock Holmes as a woman and in Africa.  I would love to visit Botswana.  Learn about the culture and beauty of this country in this story.  Enjoy.

No 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency The Minor Adjustment Beauty Salon by Alexander McCall Smith

I think everyone should go to Botswana and check it out.  Even our president of the United States,  especially after he made a remark that makes you want to connect with him and say, "What are you doing?"  That way the person who was elected, if he truly was elected, president might be able to better understand what a special place this is to visit.  If I win the lottery, I'm going to Botswana.  Reading and listening to the audiobooks, helps us understand the culture and entertain us at the same time.  It's a good read!

No 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency Tears of The Giraffe by Alexander McCall Smith

This series should be in everyone's library and read three times.  Or even better listen to the audiobooks and hear the talented actress bring the characters to life.  HBO had made this a series.  It lasted for one season and Jill Scott and all her fellow cast members and who ever wrote for the show and did the directing and filming and sound were brilliant.  It's a good read.  Enjoy.

No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency The Full Cupboard of Life by Alexander McCall Smith

This series should be in all libraries.  It's brilliant.  Visit modern Botswana and learn about culture, life and customs.  The stories are smart and entertaining and filled with a delightful authentic vibe.  The audiobooks are special to hear the words spoken with a captivating voice.  Enjoy.  It's a good read.

We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach

I listened to the audiobook version of this.  I'm going to pass on this book for my high school library.  it was all over the place and a little disconnected.  I really liked Life As We Knew It better.  This book was about events leading up to the big bang but not what happened.  It's kids making bad choices.  Skip this book.

No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency: Morality for Beautiful Girls by Alexander McCall Smith

I want to go to Botswana thanks to Alexander McCall Smith.  It's brilliant and I wish there was a Precious Ramotswe.  Jill Scott, the actress and the cast did a great job thanks to HBO bringing it all to life.  The books are brilliant and so are the audiobooks.  Enjoy.

For the Win by Cory Doctorow

This is one intense story.  I'm going to get this for my high school library.  It's gaming online warfare.  Doctorow can write a good story.  This is my third story.  He makes you think and he's done some serious research.  It's a smart and brilliant story.  It's also a good guy's read.  Enjoy.

Chrestomanci: Witch Week by Diana Wynne Jones

Before there was Harry Potter, there was Chrestomanci.  It's a great series.  Enjoy this series.  You'll thank me later.  Fine for any library.  Enjoy it's magical.

All the Wind in the World by Samantha Mabry

This is one wild story.  Manipulation, love, death, fights, curses, and horses.  It's a passionate story that is legendary.  Jealousy is a dangerous thing.  It is set in a alternate depression era, world.  It's a good read.

Agincourt by Bernard Cornwell

Oh my goodness, this is a challenging read.  War at any time in history is horrible and this is brutal.  1415 was an intense year and  people were not nice.  Those with power were abusive to those who were not.  It's an incredible book, based on a true epic historic event.  The narrative takes us through the story with Nick Hook who is an incredible archer.  It's a solid read and a good audiobook.  We should read these historic stories.... no matter what time frame from now to the past so we can learn to be better people and understand how brutal war is.
