Excellent story based on the life of Arn Chorn-Pond. It's a sad story but also a story with hope. I got to visit Cambodia a few years ago. to see the ancient world of Angkor Wat. We had hired a driver who also survived the Khmer Rouge as a young boy. It's was a difficult time but he survived and his children and grandchildren are educated and also some of them are educators. Bottom line, this book is a must for all high school libraries.
