As a teacher-librarian, I have the opportunity to read young adult books to share with my students. The list that I have provided will have an overview of the book and personal comments. They are on a Book-mercial style image to get a taste of the essence of the book.

M is for Magic by Neil Gaiman
This is a feast for the brain. I heard this on audio and it is written with lyricalness and richness. Each story has it's own character. Some I recognized from other books he's written. I'd put Neil Gaiman right up there with Ray Bradbury. Enjoy.
