Almost fanfiction, similar to Harry Potter. Simon is a magician and his love interest is a vampire. They go on a road trip that ends up getting them in to some problematic dangers. It's an entertaining read if you enjoy a more mature adult Harry Potter type story. It's fine for high school libraries.
