This is a perfect book for middle school. Amy has some issues in her life, her father died in an accident right after a fight. Years later she's trying to prove she's a responsible young teen and help her mom by babysitting. She gets in the middle of a kidnapping and she takes care of her little charge and figures out smart ways to deal with the kidnappers.
